At last the NHL playoffs are over.

It was a crazy ride looking back at some of the great teams that got eliminated. In the end the Pittsburgh Penguins came out on top of Detroit a short time ago! To all those who watch NHL it was quite the season, and teams like Chicago Blackhawks did a great job!

It was a great final 5 minutes, but I can't help but ask, how much of a non-event is this south of the 49th? I've always got the impression that Americans couldn't care less about hte NHL.

Sadly what you say is true. I am a huge Ducks fan, always have been, but hockey just doesn't get any real coverage in my area.

damn I was glad to see the Pens pull the Win... I'm a Flames gal, and my spouse is from Denver....so seeing Detroit do well is twisting the blade to us...

I hate the pens too, as my second team is the flyers... but lesser of two evils.. I tend to always support a west team in the finals unless it's wings, Vancouver, or San Jose.

Sadly this is very true, but if you have cable and get the "versus" channel they cover some local and national games. And hockey, like soccer, is starting to catch on more in the US. Just needed a fan base, and that fan base needed local teams to devote life, limb, and lots of money for play off tickets.

I'm just saying: West conference, no one gives a crap when the Wings when. Easier to say the wings will win West conference than to say that the sun will rise tomorrow.

However, East conference? Gives us some variety in who's ass we kick.

WA gets some coverage, but not enough Calgary for me, so I tend to just get Center Ice every year.

Grew up in Pittsburgh, the City of Champions once again. Now if only the Pirates could win a few damn games...

Fuck Pittsburgh! God damn I'm angry!

Ah well, I am a Habs fan anyways.
Ahh, you must be angry a lot, then.
Meh, not as though I was expecting much from Mtl in the playoffs, bloody bums.

Always next year!

The 7th game was pretty good, i was hoping that last shot would be a goal, i love exciting, close call, on the edge games, and upsets are great. A 7th game overtime and/or shootout (i forget how a tied stanely cup game is settled though... continuos overtime?) would be great to watch.

Honestly i like both teams so it didnt matter who won it to me just as long as it was an exciting game. My team is the Sharks (best logo in all of sports!), but i used to like Detriot when Chris Chelios was there.

anyways i think i'll go play nhl 09 now!
