I was just looking over the rules earlier and noticed the no "Pornography Sexist, Racist or Perverted Remarks" part of the rules which made me think of some of the posts on the escapist (you know, references to fapping etc.) and those seem to be accepted. I'm in no way saying that those kinds of posts are bad i'm just wondering what crosses the line between suggestive or talking sex to the line of explict and pornagraphic.

I personally think that anything is fine as long as the post doesn't mention any specific body parts.

Any thoughts with you guys about what crossing the line from accepted to explict?

Well, I find that this part of the rule pretty much covers it: "Please read what you wrote before you post it and think if anyone else could find it offensive."

That being said, its all about what you need for making your argument. If a part of your discussion is on, say, Mad World, chances are you may need to talk about the grotesque mutilation that many characters experience. That's fine, because its the means to the end of a good discussion, which is the goal of the forums.

If you are just talking about how much you love launching people into spike walls, or something... Well that's discussing violence for the sake of violence. The Escapist generally isn't into that.

Same thing goes for pornographic, racist, and perverse material.

Sexism is a bit harder because it happens a lot more than any of the above. Especially when guys come onto the forums thinking that gaming is some kinda men's club, and the only role women have in users' lives are as mothers or as things to be persuaded to have sex.
Its a much more tricky issue. But then the quote from the rules I first mentioned applies most strongly.

But also, I can post something like this because, while it is about pornographic material, it does not contain pornographic content in and of itself:
But without sexual content being an integral part of something I'd like to discuss, that's the dirtiest thing I'd ever feel comfortable posting.
