So I thought I needed to update my drivers for my graphics card. I am pretty sure its a Sapphire Radeon HD 5850. So roughly one quarter along the setup the display reboot as the updated drivers kick in, Then i get a blue screen that tells me to restart my computer. Since then (5mins ago) whenever i restart my computer my screen buggs out ands say "analog out of range 75,3 MHz / 60 HZ".

From what I have gathered it seems the update overwrote the drivers for my widescreen, problem is how am i supposed to install them if I can´t navigate the setup?.

thanks for any advice, I spent 3 years saving up for this computer, I would like it to function.

Disable the graphics card in the BIOS/set it to onboard (if you can't do this just remove it for now), uninstall the drivers on control panel then, start > right click properties on computer > device manager > display adapters it will tell you what GPU you have, once you know download the correct drivers, reboot and undo the changes in the BIOS (or turn off and plug it back in), install drivers and you should be fine.

That should solve it all.

Start windows in Safe Mode w/ Networking (mash F11 as the PC/Laptop starts up) which disables ALL drivers, rollback the driver and go to ATi's actual site and get the driver from it, Steam can do it but its usually 100% fail proof if you do it from ATi's site.

Also never let windows updates do it, biggest mistake anyone can make.
