So, I decided to get a set of superior speakers for my computer for Christmas, this isn't exactly important, but its set-up info. They haven't came in, but I thought it's be a good idea to set up a surround sound system, and using the current set of speaker I have, I'd use them as the rear speakers. I unplugged them then place them in the "rear" socket on my sound card. Worked exactly as I could hope. Left played left, right played right, and the sub stepped in on the deep sounds. Happy, but lacking the other set of speaker, I set them back exactly the way they were. NOW Things get werid.

My right speaker plays Sub sounds. It now assumes I have a middle speaker, which I don't, and plays that audio through the left. My sub controls both left and right. Any ideas on how I can re-assign channels so I can get it working normally?

EDIT:
If you need any further information, don't hesitate to ask, I'll try and give as much as I can.

On my home desktop, I have a sound manager icon on my system tray for my realtek on board audio. When I plug in a 3.5 mm jack into one of the audio sockets, it pops up this confirmation dialogue from which I can assign the slot I just plugged in. Now, obviously, your computer is probably different, but (assuming you have a windows pc) do you have anything down in the bottom right of your task bar? Or maybe in your control panel?

There should always be (assuming 5.1 or 7.1) 3 or 4 sockets dedicated to it respectively. Green is normally the front, black is sub and center, the rest seem to be a bit random.

Have you definitely plugged the speakers back into the "front" socket? (or at least what is now designated at the front socket, as the onboard soundcards these days can reallocate any plug socket to anything it needs to be).

If you have, make sure you go back into the speaker settings and reconfigure it as Stereo speakers (right click the volume control, click Playback Devices, right click your speakers and choose "Configure Speakers").

Alright, well, I solved this problem myself, so thanks for at least trying to help, but it turns out this was a driver problem, apparently it updated while back, and it must have messed up, because I deleted and re-installed the driver, works like a charm.
