I bought a 360 today, but since I don't own a TV I need to use my PC monitor. It's a HD monitor etc so that worked fine, but I can't get the audio working. I've tried plugging the red and white things from the VGA cable into my audio box, but that didn't work - those plugs are for the speakers.

Any ideas?

My first impulse is to say you need to use a fiber optic TOSLINK cable and a good Dolby-compliant tuner... the surround sound on Xbox is amazing stuff.

I should ask, though, are you using the component plugs (3 for video, 2 for audio) or HDMI (one honkin' big square plug) to connect to your monitor? If it's the latter, I think you need to go into your console settings to tell the 360 to not use the audio-out on HDMI and to use RCA stereo output instead.
