Hey Ladies, and Gents of the Escapist, to be blunt. I need help.

My friends birthday is Today, and as such I'm making a video for him(Almost done!). Problem you say?

I Need a program that detects sound being played ON my computer, and records it. That being game music, music from a video my other friend made.

Something like Audacity, but not (Me and Audacity ****ing HATE eachother.)

If you know of anything of Audacities ilk, but NOT Audacity, please post a link.

Thanks! :)

Just google sound recorder for PC and you'll find loads of free programs. I can't remember the name of one I just used but it worked fine...

OK I think I've ramshackled a solution.

I some how made it so my Mic is recording interally in the computer making it think that stereo mix is me speaking and then I recorded it VIA Ventrilo.

Going to be a pain in the ass setting up again, because I don't know HOW I did it XD

[sup]Also please note, If I've made a thread stating something, it means I've already thoroughly googled.[/sup]

Google free wave editors, as people have suggested. Then, you'll need to go into your windows sound mixer and enable recording of "Wave output". This will tell windows to route all playing sounds into your recording program. This is how I dub things on my computer. The only problem is that it doesn't work on my laptop's integrated sound card, so I bought an Extigy external card off a friend last year. If you're using a desktop system this shouldn't be a problem.

WavePad sound editor.
Wavepad is a fantastic bit of software, I'd take it any day over Audacity. More features, easy to use, records from mic's and whatever the computers doing, and it's free.
In fact, I suggest it so much, here's the link. Just click "Get it Now" and it gives it to you for free

300lb Samoan probably has the best answer in this thread... So listen to him/her.
