Hey there. Well this week are the auditions for my Sixth Form's production of Sweeney Todd and I'll be trying out for the part of Sweeney Todd. This got me thinking... Has anybody here ever auditioned for anything? What was it like? Do you like auditioning? Come on, let's get some discussion going.

Personally I don't normally audition for things but this is Sweeney Todd for crying out loud. I've been practicing for about a week but I still don't know if I'm good enough for Sweeney Todd... My voice can't quite hit the high notes. Anyway, what are your experiences?

Nope never, I don't want to be in the spotlight for anything, I can't sing, I doubt I can act nd all that jazz.

I used to do plays in high school, but I haven't done any for college yet. Mostly I stick to improve, becasue it's a lot more fun. Auditioning is fun, but you have to loosen up. Being rigid can ruin everything. Just feel good and try not to even notice the people judging you, though that isn't hard as the stage lights glare out the audience.

I'm just about to audition for a part in my school's Twelfth Night, and I did it last year, too. It's not as hard or judging as it seems. They just want to get a sense of what part would be good for, and what you do otherwise. The real tough part comes when you actually get the part.

I was in my old acting group for a couple classes before we actually started doing plays and stuff so I never really had to audition with them. I just usually got put in lead rolls on the strength of my... actually, why the hell was I put in lead rolls? Huh...

I'm just trying to loosen my voice up a bit and try to get it louder. I'm not a big singer, this is pretty much my first audition. I know, first one and I'm going for the lead. Ambitious. I've been practising 'My Friends' and I can do it but I need to steady out my voice a bit. I've tried 'Epiphany' but I end up confusing the lyrics.

The auditions are on Thursday for everyone that wants to try out, regardless of cast and Friday are for those people from Thursday that want to try for main cast parts. I'll most likely update here as to how it goes when I know :p

I got into the Grease musical at my school through the combination of A. Knowing all the song lyrics off by heart and B. looking like a greaser and owning a leather jacket (The Drama Budget is pretty bad). Yet I never even did Drama, should have done really.
