Are you able to back this up? I literally cannot find anything on an "extreme edition" replacing EA's online pass system.

At 4:03, Jim talks about it.

The short version is that they're just calling it something else and sticking a couple extras in there.

Wouldn't that just make it "podean"? ;)
I've never heard of antipodean before and hearing it now.... it sounds like the name of some species that has an exoskeleton.
It's pronounced something like an-tip-oh-dee, I'm not sure if it just means southern hemisphere or if it refers to Australia and New Zealand specifically.

And that is infuriating. They see what the problem is. It is related to how Australia conducts business with foreign groups with high taxes of imports, yet the blame isn't going to the government as it should...
We did blame them. We voted them all out in a landslide election recently. Admittedly it was only one of many reasons why we shafted the bastards but that aside.

Check the date on that video. EA made their announcement regarding the removal of online passes on May 15 [http://kotaku.com/ea-getting-rid-of-online-passes-507021364] (check the date on that article and the linked article compared to the date of Jim's video). That video came out April 1, before EA even made the announcement. Therefore, Jim's comment about EA "removing online passes" had little to do with the actual removal of online passes that EA announced over a month after Jim made that video. It was mere coincidence that they happened to sound like the same thing.

Yawn. Another day, another "EA is Satan" thread. Do I get some kind of trophy if I have bough a bunch of their games and never had any problems at all? And while I don't like the idea of charging for customer support, its hardly something EA invented, and at least unlike some people *coughfucksteamsupportcough* their support isn't totally shit.
This is a pretty good one. EA could have actually found a way to profit from being bad.

I can't wait to see how EA will react to this. It'll be like George Bush is still in office.
EA will surely say that most Australians love their products based on how many Australians have Origin accounts and say that this unfortunate award was only given to them because of the actions of a "vocal minority".

EA will say nothing. Or, if they say anything, it will only be to dig deeper.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. Unless you're calling a sex line, you shouldn't be $2.48 per minute. All company tech support should fall under toll free numbers.

I don't get it. Did you quote the wrong person or am I just not understating your post? Or are you trying to imply I'm a paid shill?
