That is NOTHING!

Australians get have got it easy, compared to us Danes.

Here it costs 1699Kr which is the same as 325.53 USD

So yeah, I don't feel sorry for them.

What are you talking about good sir. I was commenting on how everything in Australia is pretty much double that of the US video games included. Relative to your wage you are not paying any more for games then those who live in the US. Ya it sucks that its far cheaper to import games then to buy them locally but thats life.
So, someone's ability to pay should determine the price they are charged? How would you like it if the next time you went into Best Buy they asked to see your W2 so they could adjust your price up for every dollar you make over "x" amount a year?
I ask you this, if everything is twice as expensive in Australia as then US then why should video games be an exception?
But everything is not twice as expensive.

Where did you get that stupid idea? I've lived here for 4 years now and I pay on average about 20% more for goods and services than I did back in the States. A classic thing to check would be the "Big Mac Index".

Big Mac in the States: $3.73
Big Mac in Australia: $4.35

Or about.. 20% more. Even though minimum wage is about twice as much.

Yes, "working poor" in Australia are significantly better off than in America. But thats more of a case of America sucking ass on distributing income than it is a reflection of the cost of manufacturing goods (which we import from China dirt cheap) or providing services.

Big Mac Index (for the curious): http://www.oanda.com/currency/big-mac-index

My lower region feels sore just from thinking about this even though I haven't bought it. :S

It will be interesting to see if this actually does cause any real outrage or people will just mumble about it and buy it anyway.

I WAS highly anticipating U3, but then I played the beta, and I thought it was complete shit, so I'll think about it.
OT: Meh, special editions aren't really my thing.
It's all about the single-player honestly. Multi in UC2 was alright but nothing special.
Oh, I remember the Uncharted 2 multiplayer... grenade spam feast. It was a complete clusterfuck, an absolute mess of a game. The explosives were all blatantly overpowered, and once some guy got one he'd keep spamming it everywhere and joyfully camp on a ledge you can't access with him seeing you climb up.

This is the reason services like ozgameshop are becoming more popular. Not only can us Aussies buy the game much cheaper with free shipping they also sell the UK versions which are compatible with Aussie DLC.

I have personally vowed to NEVER buy a game from Australian retail ever again!

That sucks, I'm from Sweden and I'm used to double the prices.
But the good news is that that collector's edition seems like a bunch of poorly made junk, and a cash multiplier that's damn near enough reason not to buy the game at all.

This is complete bullshit, im importing the first chance I can. Seriously, Australian gamers need to wake up, unify, and take some sort of action. We have put up with ridiculous prices for so long here, now there isn't even a reason why we are!!!

This isn't exactly uncommon. You want to know how much retailers are going to want for the Skyrim Collectors edition.? $300 AUD, yes you read that correctly

You can get this from play-asia website and get a non-region coded version of the game itself. It isn't priced yet but with shipping Im going to guess it will be around $110-120 AUD. It includes the rest of the stuff (necklace/belt-buckle etc) and shipping usually takes about a week, although I got MW2 in four days (and paid $59 AUD)!. Ive bought stacks through the site and haven't had any issues at all. That's where I'll be getting it this time too. EB Games doesn't deserve your money and JB HiFi aren't far behind. Give it six months and these collectors editions will be in the bargain bins.
