Wrong moron. The moron you're thinking of former SA Attorney General Michael Atkinson. Current SA Attorney General John Rau is a completely different moron.

Not really but kinda sorta... Basically, Rau's Schtick is he wants MA15+ removed as a game classification and the rules for MA15+ to be used as the rules for R18... because he's a cock.

Hence why I said 'that' moron, besides Rau is more of a arsehole than moron.

Don't forget American Democrats, after all this is a bi partisan issue when it comes to violent video games.

1) Different cultures have different values dude. England (the PEGI system) is way more lack about nudity than America (the ESRB system) for example.

2) YOU HAVE A BLOODY R-18 RATING NOW! USE IT AND STOP WITH THE "FOR THE CHILDREN" BS!

It's refreshing to see that at least the politicians in Australia are reasonable and agenda free.

Rather than wasting the time trying to rate them again. How about they just use the ESRB or PEGI rating instead.

Do Australian politicians really have nothing to whine about that's worth whining about?
Yes. Anyone who comes here thinks it's a paradise, even our poorest citizens have terrific lives compared with other countries, but when you watch our news and listen to our politicians you'll think it's a hellhole. It's fucking absurd.

Right now Democrats are barely tolerable, however if we had a republican president they'll be doing anything to mess him or her up to look good. There trying to look like the reasonable guys and make the republicans the children in the room, but in reality there all children pointing fingers at each other, instead of working together.

I'll agree partially to that... But, when republicans act like Obama has cooties and that anything he is for they are against you have to admit they are the worst offenders of the two.

Can we please have an XXXXXOMGYOUARESATANFORBUYINGTHIS rating so that we can finally get past the still ridiculous refusal of classifications that stuff like saints row and state of decay were given?

Like, I'm an adult so (lol, Solve media: "frankly my dear".) I don't give a damn if you make everything higher than G rating into this new XXXXCHRISTONABIKE rating, it is however unacceptable that a 'free' nation's classification body can restrict stuff like saints row 3 from legally recognised adults, esspecially over such stupid technicallities... Added to which, the rating is meant as advisory, if adults are stupid enough to go buying their four year old grand theft auto that's their problem.

As for the point being raised... I believe it's somewhat obvious why some games are rated higher there than here; because they do not have the intermediate rating Australia does. I mean, the whole reason MA was made was because we felt there needed to be a rating higher than M but lower than R18... what's the point in having it if it's not going to be used? Like sure, go for it, but remove MA altogether since there's no point having it, infact we could just use the PEGI system ourself XD

I agree, Obamacare was originally an idea by the conservative heritage foundation, and Republicans used it as an alternative to Bill Clinton's health care proposal, not to forget, Mitt Romney signed it into law in Massachusetts as governor.

And now all of a sudden it's poison to the republicans? Politics at it's worst, and this obama derangement syndrome is just pathetic.

Wow, we just had a civilized discussion about american politics on the internet. I'm looking outside to see if the world is ending. Anyways It was a fun talk, and you have a good night.

lol I like to have civilized debates as well especially with politics. I don't consider myself a republican or democrat, as I view both parties with contempt because they only do what's best for there party brand, and not for the Country. Being independent is awesome, and good night to you to.

And good night.

This could be very true. But, still, it's a moot point as what he should really be doing is requesting more time and money in educating parents to think carefully as to what they expose to their kids.

the only thing that annoys me about this article is the headline. John Rau is a politician in the South Australian government, so it's akin to saying a politician in NY doesn't like something he already agreed to implement federally.

He's just making noise cause there is an election coming up in South Australia, that's it, period, end of story. It's literally a politician saying "O GTA just came out, great, I'm gonna make something up about ratings being wrong, it's going to get me on the news, election is coming so any publicity is good right now."

Think I'm a cynic?
