Below are a draft set of guidelines for Australia's R18+ situation. Opinions and discuss? I'd mainly like to see your opinions on the R18+ Sex and Violence elements.

"The general rule is ?simulation, yes ? the real thing, no?.
Anyone care to clarify exactly what "the real thing" is in a video game? I'm guessing it just can't be pornographic or something.

Overall, I'm glad this is a draft because it feels a bit vague. I'd like them to elaborate more.

I wonder if formerly banned items will now be allowed.

Only if the publisher/distributor resubmits them for classification.

The whole "has to be unanimous" thing still worries me.

For years it was the dickhead from South Australia blocking any educated discussion, and now the moron from Victoria looks like he'll block the move, if his comments today are anything to go by (to the effect of "I'm concerned this will allow kids to get adult material". Sigh).

I would assume any non-stylized scenario which does not require the action as part of the narrative. For instance, Japanese loli-rape games will still be RC, but DA3 would be able to show some nipple.
