Someone get's this out of my head!
Oh god...

THE IMAGES!

GAME OVER, MAN! GAME OVER!
why? I find these images kind of funny as Jake is left with an awkward moment of indecision in the midst of passion as he decides which mouth to suck on and as he decides kiss the main mouth he is eaten form the inside out by that tongue mouth thing.

...Yeah, I made that up mostly because I haven't seen much of any of the Alien movies. The above image would also look pretty disturbing in practice.

OT: I didn't think Avatar actually needed a sequel. the sequel, if it is made, will probably have a contrived and unintuitive plot twist to get the story moving because of this.

Avatar 2: Electric Boogaloo IMO.

So I've recently discovered that there are plans for an Avatar 2? What do you all think it SHOULD be about?
I think it shouldn't be made and they should leave the first movie as standalone. It was good, not GREAT, but decent enough, even if quite a bit of it was a blatant ripoff of Arkady and Boris Strugatsky's "Noon".

so it rips off aleins now. How?

I wouldn't say ripped off, considering they're both his films. However, the dropships, the walkers, the general marine aesthetic is taken from Aliens. Michelle Rodriguez's character is a lot like Vasquez from Aliens, Sigourney Weaver is in both, the slimy corporation character is in both. I don't hold it against Avatar, it's just a continuation of a theme.
Basically this. The whole theme of the generic Space Marine was pioneered by Aliens, which is Cameron's work, and you can see the influence rather heavily in Avatar, as well as 95% of all Space Marine games.

Jake is trying to make out with a Todd Mc Farlane plastic Action figurine of Hans Reudi Giger's Xenomorph Aliens? Wow... that sounds interesting. I'd actually like to see that!

I hope to hell Avatar 2 is abandoned and James Cameron starts working on a movie that isn't another bad CGIfest that Hollywood keeps pumping out.

What, you really didn't know about that? James Cameron was already talking about it before the first one came out!

OT: it'll probably have something to do with the survivors of a now ruined Earth, looking for a new home. Guess where....

Considering how much money Avatar has made, they could make it about a monkey hitting it self with a stick, and it still will break a billion easy. 3 billion if they film it in 3D and makes the monkey blue.

I don't know what it coul be about. About every direction he could go in would either undercut the message of this movie, or else rehash the plot from the first one. So I'm very curious to see what he comes up with.

WAIT!

I do have an idea! It's more of a setting than a plot, but hey.

The humans have come back with massive firepower, and conquered Pandora completely. The Na'vi put up a brave resistance, but they just can't hold off against that much. Flash forward 800 years. Pandora is completely industrialised. The humans colonized it, and run most of the major cities and towns. The Na'vi are forced to live in slums, and are persecuted and attacked by the police and army daily. The Na'vi's past are unknown to them, until one day Mr or Mrs(main character) finds ancient ruins that chronicle the once great civilization. The film charts the rise from total subjugation to a viable guerrilla movement that fights back against the human occupiers.

Where the first film found beauty in nature, this would find beauty in urbanization, a la Bladerunner.

That wasn't too bad for something off the top of my head.
Except that it would just be District 9 with cat people.

-EDIT-
Bloody Ninjas
Wasn't that what avatar was in the first place?
Fookin cats

It should be about the Navi teaming up with Disney and Microsoft to hunt down James Cameron for making a movie that blatantly rips off Pocahontas and Halo all in one go.

PS: Big congrats for the guys at Weta Workshop for winning an Oscar for their work on Avatar
Pocahontas ripped off Dances with Wolves, and Halo ripped off other movies by Cameron, so all Cameron did was use his signature sci-fi style.

I'm hoping the second one is just good, at this point. I'd be only a little angry if it turned out badly.

Wikipedia says there's gonna' be an Avatar 2 & 3 and that there Cameron's next two projects...
God. Dammit.
Battle Angel was pushed back for sequels to a finished story.
God. ... You get the point, I'm sure.
