Avatar changing error

I'm new to the site so I don't have an avatar, but when i try to change it loads for like 30 seconds then it gives me a "500 internal server error"

Any suggestions?

It's been giving me that constantly. I tried changing mine and it was like this for the passed few days.

Wait. Maybe the site is having some problems, so maybe this is one of those problems that will just resolve itself.

Also, welcome to The Escapist. Stay out of the basement. And just a bit of advice, we have very strict moderators, so avoid low content posts and whatnot (not saying you will, but that is something a lot of new guys have to learn the hard way).

I just think it might just not have been updated yet. My current one took a couple of days to go from being the red x to House telling you all to deal with it.

If it's more than 200kb in size, there's your problem.
