it is believed after the Avatar franchise is done it will make over 5 billion, and it is a bittersweet victory, because i like the movie but FOX an McDonalds will get most of the money

I really liked Avatar to be honest. Next to District 9, The Hangover and Sherlock Holmes, it was the best film of 2009 for me. Didn't see it in 3D though, couldn't be fucked.
Still think The Dark Knight should have grossed higher. That is one of the greatest films ever made.

Shame that his best works went relatively unnoticed. Aliens is still one of my favourite films of all time.
It deserves it, Avatar is the best movie i have seen in years and probably in my whole life. Besides, this means that there going to be enough money to make a second and third ones. Hopefully Cameron follows the Dark Knight model of sequels, by making the second Avatar even more seat-chewingly awesome than the first. If not... what the hell we'll still all watch it anyways. Who knows, maybe ,just maybe, this could be the Star Wars of our generation. Probably not, but a man can dream right.
Thank God Im not the only one who was unimpressed with the actual content of the movie. Customers have been looking at me strangely when they asked me what I thought of it and I said that it was average at best.muldmike said:

Yeah. More people are willing to watch an insipid movie with lots of shiny effects with a plot and storyline ripped off from 3 movies I can think of with all the names and places scratched out and changed. That says quite a bit about modern cinema and its audience today, doesn't it?
