The Avatar, Roku has just died under mysterious circumstances and Fire Lord Sozin is gathering his armies. An ambassador to the Earth kingdom from the Fire Nation (ignorant of Sozin's betrayal of Roku) has charged a young water bending warrior, Kavu, to deliver a package to the fire sages in the Fire Nation. Kavu is gathering a team of five other individuals to help him transport the item. Along the way, our heroes unearth Sozin's betrayal and must find a way to survive the first hectic days of the Hundred Year War.

So there are five slots besides mine. If interested, PM me. Don't post in this thread. Remember, your character doesn't have to be a bender. It could be a skilled warrior, herbalist, anything you can think of. Being a bender or non-bender won't influence my decision. If you play an air bender, there must be some reason your bison is not available/you do not possess one, as it would create a LOTR eagles style plot hole.

Our group will start from Ba Sing Se the morning after the characters have gathered at the Inn called Kyoshi's Rest.

Edit: Sheet deadline is 6th of June. I'll make my final selection on the 7th, and hopefully we'll get things rolling.

Edit 2: Scratch that, dump your sheets in the thread. It needs a bumping every now and then. I'll make a new one come start time.

Exactly how dark will this RP be in comparison to the show? Obviously, we don't have to appeal to a group of censors, and the average age of submitted characters is significantly higher than the show's, but this is inspired by a kids' show, after all.
I don't mind a little swearing, and I expect we don't have to excessively let enemies live as much as is done on the show. It's not grim-dark, but we can afford some realism.

FINAL SELECTION:

Name: Kavu

Age: 32

Gender: Male

Appearance: 6,1", tanned with thick but short dark brown hair and dark green eyes. A thin red scar runs down his right cheek. He wears leather chest and thigh armor, dyed blue with steel shoulder plates. On a loose string around his neck, he wears an amulet meant for a water tribe woman in betrothal.

Skills/Bending: Kavu is a water bending warrior from the Northern water tribe. As an ex-lieutenant, he has tactical skill. He is a proficient swordsman, though a true master would probably overcome him.

Weapons/equipment: On his right hip is a water skin for drinking and/or bending. On his shin is a whale tooth dagger. His primary weapon appears to be a katana. The hilt is not connected to a blade, and is hollow. The sheath is filled with water. With this, he creates an ice sword, or water whip. With his bending, the ice blade matches up to high grade weapons steel.

Backstory: Kavu was a member of the Northern Water Tribe's standing army, mainly dealing with any criminal or bandit uprisings in the North, or beating back the more fearsome predators. He was highly skilled, but never rose beyond the rank of Lieutenant, as he greatly admired the captain he served under; Captain Majon, whose daughter he married. One day on patrol, they were attacked by an enraged whale that broke through the ice. It had been poorly hunted, and thus wounded by poachers, who then attacked the patrol rather than risk arrest.

One of them wounded Kavu and knocked him to the ground. Majon was standing on a section of ice just about to give to the whale's onslaught, but rather than escape, used his last moment to water whip Kavu's attacker and save his life. The ice gave, and Majon was consumed by the whale. The stress of this caused his daughter, Kavu's wife, to die in childbirth. Numbed by the double tragedy, Kavu took the first opportunity to quit the army, and set off traveling. Wandering aimlessly, four years later he found himself at the court of the Earth King in Ba Sing Se. Over the next two years, he would befriend the Fire Nation ambassador Baku. One week prior to the start of our story, an agitated Baku took Kavu aside and drew from him a promise to deliver the package to the Fire Sages by any means necessary. Kavu has seen fit to gather a group to assist him. Lacking the necessary influence with the Earth King to acquire a contingent of Earth Benders, he must do this by his own means.

Name: Kaiza Zu

Age:25

Gender:Female

Appearance:5'10", 120 lbs, tall, slender, and strong, Kaira keeps her straight raven black cut short in a three-pronged flame-stylized steel top-knot piece with inlaid jade and rose quartz. She is most often wearing skin-tight pants and shirt underneath her Fire Nation garb,(more or less, she wears Kitara's outfit, but red and black, just because I can't think of how to describe it for some reason) Wears a scabbard at her right that holds two Jian swords in separate, but almost indistinguishable compartments. She has almond-shaped, amber colored eyes, the normal distinct cheekbones, and her nails are all cut short except for her thumbnails, which have been filed to sharp, sturdy points she uses for last defense weapons.

Skills/Bending: A sword-fighting prodigy, Kaira was born into a family of bodyguards, and learned from the time she was four the strength of a dagger, moving up to her current weapons by the time she was ten and defeating her older brothers by fifteen. She is dangerous at mid-to-short range, mainly because of her expertise with her weapons, able to pull one of her swords out of the scabbard and disarm her opponent, then charge in for the kill, or capture, as the situation demands. She carries no other weapons, as she is somewhat skilled in HtH combat, but not on the same level as when she holds a sword in her hand, and if it's not her type of sword, she's still not on quite the same level as her specialty weapon.

Weapons/equipment: Two Jian swords in a single scabbard at her right hip, both of the highest quality steel, the blades each folded 500 times and created with a mixture of fire bending and a swordsmith's expertise.A light chain shirt,a sharpening stone,a platinum amulet engraved with her family's names on the back and the Fire Nation symbol, keeps a good supply of fire flakes or Fire Nation-specific foods, and a change of clothes.

Backstory: Kaira was born to a family steeped in generations of bodyguards, from her great-great-great uncle who protected the Fire Lord himself, all the way to the current generation, her mother and father protecting the Fire Palace, outside the doors of the Fire Lord's chamber himself, her 3 brothers protecting notable generals and ambassadors around the world, her only sister is currently still in training, but hopes to receive a post soon, and herself, protecting the Fire Nation's Ambassador Baku to Ba Sing Se. She is honor-bound to her nation, charge, and charge's family, in that order, and volunteered to be a part of the guard protecting the package going with Kavu, despite her qualms with leaving Baku's personal guard.

Name: trog

Age: 23

Gender: male

Appearance: trog is 6ft tall and has a thin and muscular build, he has short sleek black hair, he wears a much lighter and less armoured version of an old fire nation uniform

Skills/Bending: trog is a highly trained archer and a self trained expert at parkour, and has minor earth bending abilities that just about allow him to move a handful of pebbles.

Weapons/equipment: a high quality short-bow and quiver full of arrows.

Backstory: Trog's father is a powerful earth bender and a high ranking member of the earth kingdom military. When trog was young his father spend hours trying to train trog in the way of earth bending, after trog showed no ability as a earth bender his father lost interest in him. His father, left trog and his mother and returned to focusing on his career. At the age of 12 trog picked up a job as a delivery boy, he always took unusual roots to get to his location faster, never even thinking twice about the dangers. By the age of 16 he was known for being the best person in Omashu to get your package from a to b in the fastest time possible.

On one visit from his father trog showed him this skill and all his father had to say is that 'a man doesn't need to run'. Trog decided that he would show his father, he studied all that he could about different fighting styles, one of which he found extremely fascinating, archery. Though the only person he knew about that could teach him archery to a level he would be satisfied with, a ex-soldier of the fire nation. After telling his planes to his mother he packed up and left for the fire nation, finding the archery teacher took him 1 and a half years (at this point he is 18).

It took some convincing but he was able to be accepted as a student, he trained for 3 years becoming a skilled and precise archer as well as learning how to incorporating his parkour into his archery. His teacher was impressed enough with trog to give him his old uniform and bow. After this Trog headed to ba sing se to show his father what he had learned, about 1 week before reaching ba sing se he had an argument with someone and trog swiped his hand through the air in a dismissive fashion, but in doing so he accidentally through a small rock at the back of the man's head. He quickly made his get away to avoid a fight. He practised his new found bending ability but was quickly frustrated when he was unable to do much with it. Trog decided to not meet up with his father until he had mastered earth bending.

<spoiler=Peizhi redux>Name: Peizhi (Pay-Chee)

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Appearance: 5'7"; black hair tied in a loose, messy bun; bright amber eyes; slim, but fit build; one or two minor burn scars on her neck and arms; practical, sleeveless, form-fitting dark red robes, lacking a Fire Nation symbol of any kind, perhaps a bit revealing to help her keep cool; a rather plain-looking scabbard carrying an equally plain short-sword at her waist.

Skills/Bending: Peizhi is a Firebender that specializes in dodging and crowd-control, utilizing flips and spins, as well as large bursts of hot flame to keep opponents at bay, but is no stranger to one-on-one duels. Her preferred style involves fast jabs and sweeping kicks while keeping as light on her feet as possible. As such, she finds it difficult to sustain a solid stream of fire for too long, but is good at spreading it out, like a living semi-automatic shotgun. Defensively, she prefers speed over raw power, reasoning that one should avoid being struck at all; offensively, her philosophy is that if even one blow glanced the enemy, it wasn't a wasted move.

Weapons/equipment: She has no armor, preferring speed. She carries a short sword she rarely uses, as well as a satchel of basic survival equipment (water, food rations, a knife, etc). She also has a small bag of Fire Nation candies she munches on occasionally.

Backstory: Peizhi was what many would describe as a "problem child". Quick to anger, and by extension, to use her fists, she was refused entry into the Fire Nation Military numerous times. She was trained in Firebending in secret by her father, Liu, who at the very least wanted his daughter to be able to defend herself. Liu, a soldier, was eventually called away. He didn't return, and nobody would tell Peizhi why.

She eventually figured why, but she never learned who, and didn't care. It hardly mattered. She took everything he taught her to heart, and bore no anger. If there was anything kind to be said about her temper, it's that she could get past things quickly. Her father always told her this might happen, and she accepted it. It wasn't likely she'd find them, anyway.

When she came of age, she simply left the Fire Nation. She didn't care for it, and there was nothing keeping her there. Her mother had died a year previous, she was considered by most too hot-tempered to marry (and couldn't stomach the idea of being a stay-at-home mother), she still couldn't join the military, she found mercenary work detestable and strictly last-resort, and banditry and piracy were completely out of the question.

She eventually found herself in Ba Sing Se, sipping from a tea cup in a local inn named for a past Avatar. She's all but begging for something to do at this point, since there aren't many jobs that let her flex her Firebending abilities that aren't illegal, and joining a foreign military just... doesn't feel right. She held no hatred for Ba Sing Se, or the Earth Kingdom in general. Its people were kind enough, if stubborn (something she admired). She just found it... sparse.

<spoiler=Tilly>Name: Tilly

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Bending : A waterbender who's been taught by someone who's been taught by a semi-decent master. All in all, she's had to learn some tricks to get the desired effects and probably wouldn't pass on her form or grace.

Weapons and skills: Being the student of a practical master, she's learned nothing of the basics but lots of the practical applications. This has given her trouble learning anything beyond her current skillset, though. Her fighting consists out of mostly taking the opponent down with spiderbites, catching it off balance and then striking to fully utilise the energy used. Outside of battle, she sometimes uses water as an extention for her fingers or arms, grabbing a pencil just out of reach, or catching a fallen pot before it reaches the ground. Aside from bending, she's an apt cook, or as apt you can get by throwing things in a pot and boiling it, and a novice storyteller.

Backstory: Her first breaths were not of the freezing arctic air but of a cold, salty seabreeze. Her first sights were not the backs of treated Polardog hides but the hard and unforgiving crevices of a cave. Her first steps were not in solid water but on soft grass that tickled her while she learned. No, Tilly did not grow up in the land of her forbears to the south, but further north, a coast in the earthern kingdom. Her father, a man with dreams too big for his own good, was the one who raised her while her mother sadly left life a few days after Tilly's birth. They found themselves in this situation because of the dreams her father had. Being born in the south, ever bombarded with the tales of the grand northern civilisation, his mind was set on trekking across the world and joining them, to be in the palace-city and live their life to the fullest.

His wife, ever the loving eega, did naught but support him, and they set off one day to the horison, to traverse the span of the world and find life. Cruel fate would be that only one of the two would. The other would give hers away.

Tilly's mother happened with child in the earth kingdom. Because of this extra labour, travel was slow, and eventually they decided to let the child be born before setting off again. A tent was pitched, food was foraged, and for a couple of months the pair was happy. But as mentioned before, the mother gave her life so Tilly could live.

Her father was devestated with this loss, and refused to move from his wife's final resting place. The dreams of the north were buried at sea together with her. Desolate and desperate, he raised Tilly right there. On the western coast of the earth kingdom, in the small relic tent that had been her birthhome. It was to his great surprise that not even a year later, people from the southern tribes had stumbled upon his hiding place. His leave had spurred others to follow his tracks north, and they spurred him to come with, to join his brothers and sisters and find the northern dream again. But he would not, could not leave his precious wife behind. Finding more solace in the quiet keeper than in any dream of the northern palace-city, several families stayed behind while others continued trekking. A small community grew on that corner of the coast.

Tilly grew up with three other children of about her age. Her bending proficiency set in quite late, and she had to make due with a student of a sub-par master as HER master. Though not a prodigy, she learned at a decent pace how to control, and later tame, the water. Her proximity to the salty sea gave her an affinity with this, and even to this day persists, as she finds that salty water listens to her wiles better than fresh water does.

The morn of her nineteenth birthday, Tilly snuck out of her quarters and went to see the caravan lane that always passed this way on her birthday. The multitude of people, sounds, smells and strange sights had become a ritual for her. It was the herald to her birthday, she had always thought. They would come this way for her, and her alone. No mind that this was the only route safe for traveling alongside the entire coast, this show was hers.

Though this show would have a terrible epilogue. After edging closer and closer, she'd been at a distance that, if she wanted she could have talked with some of the merchants. Shy as she was, though, she kept behind trees and bushes, to avoid any confrontations. This did not help to something colliding with her skull though.

As she blinked and woke, she found herself on a rough, rolled-up carpet. Bolting up straight, she saw she was on the back of a cart, in the middle of a grand city. Asking, the merchants had said they had found her unconcious on the road, half way to Ba Sing Se. They had put her on the cart, as they were heading to the grand city anyway, and planned to turn her in there.

In a panic, Tilly fled the gracious merchants and into an alleyway. Doding people and buildings, she ran and ran until no breath inhabited her body.

This all happened two months ago. Since then, Tilly has been scrounging for money or food, trying to find a way back to her father, and her home.

Name: Urashi

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Appearance: 6'2 and 165, pounds very lean yet toned physique. Very unkempt with short scruffy hairand sparse facial hair. Wears black gauntlets that are very damaged from blocking swords, rocks, fire, ect ... with a yin and yang on the back of the fist. As for cloths, has brown trousers and shoes with a faded green shirt. Covering it all with a large beige cloak that reaches down to his mid calf, with the symbol of air on the back(All are damaged from travelling).

Bending : Is an airbender and trained with the southern air temple but has very little talent or ability (eg no large air blasts or flying). This instead led to a very creative use in the form of martial arts.

Weapons and skills: As air bending is low level instead focuses on learning a large number of martial arts stiles useing air bending to supplement, and is starting work on one that stops bending. Plus very good at travelling without any money coincidently has the ability to lose any amount of money and be attacked by random people. Carys a 6 staff made of steel that has multiple channels for air to pass through allowing air bending to be used to increase its speed and power to a point wear it can easily smash through boulders.

Backstory: Urashi started life as an orphan at the air temple having lost both parents, he is found to be an airbender at a far younger age than most when the monks discover him bending, at a mere 3 months old. This led to hope that he would become a great bender but as he aged it was clear that he had no hope, so the monks left him to clean and do other chores. Unable to even fly he felt a resentment towards the others who would mock him about his lack of talent. Having no place in the temple he could call his own he instead trained in martial arts day and night. Working tirelessly he became a prodigy but still never felt accepted by his fellow airbenders.

Then one summer the avatar had come to the temple. Urashi was very angry at the time that none of the others seemed to accept him. Thinking that this was because he was weak, he decided to prove to them he wasn't by challenging the avatar to a fight (ah to be young). The fight was over in a heartbeat as the arrogant young man was no match for Roku, but the turning point in his life came when Roku spoke to him after the fight. He listened as Urashi released all his anger, spending the next few days teaching him and helping him. Urashi became very attached to Roku, viewing him as some benevolent sage when Roku left he gave Urashi a pair of black gauntlets with the symbol of balance on them. These gloves became his prized possessions never leaving his side.

A few years after news arrived that Roku was no longer alive. Urashi was deeply upset and these feelings led to him doing something that exiled him from the air temples for life (no sky bison). When he left he decided to just drift from place to place training with masters and fighting outlaws after many years he arrives in Ba Sing Se without a penny to his name.

I can change whatever, if you need me to.
It's great, but I should clarify: Roku has died, but the war hasn't officially broken out yet. You might want to alter the last paragraph of backstory.

Name: L'Nell(Lenel)

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Appearance: Standard Airbending master tattoos, shaved head, and robe/shirt,though they are a bit baggier than most. Has an almost perpetual look of awe in cities, and can normally be seen with some kind of smile on his face, mostly only one side of his face. His nose is noticeably broken(crooked to his left side) from a sky polo accident a few years ago. As for specifics, he's 5'8" and only around 100 pounds, and wears an amulet with the Air Nomad symbol on it.

Skills/Bending:he's the one of the five strongest Airbenders in the Northern Air Temple and he knows it, he's learned and created a few things himself, including a way to levitate about a foot off the ground for a few minutes, not much use in a practical sense, other than stopping a fall or getting across a short gap. This is made possible by his clothes after he observed some of the Winged Lemurs and the way their wings billowed as they flew.

Although he follows the doctrine of the Air Nomads, he has also learned how to shape the air into blades, able to cut through stone and steel much easier than doing it by hand and has always used as a way to help repair parts of the temple that have fallen into disrepair and bending accidents, but has been forced to use it as a last defense in his travels, making sure to not harm the creatures too badly.

He is also an adept artist and cartographer, able to capture a perfect moment in his mind and sketch it almost flawlessly weeks, sometimes even months later if it's particularly important.

Weapons/equipment: Airbender glider/staff, not much else, a waterskin and a large scroll with separate compartments each for inks, paper/parchment/scrolls, and quills. A single very detailed map of the area around the Northern Temple and slightly less detailed maps around Basingse and the Northern Earth kingdom.

Backstory: Known to be a descendent of Avatar Yangchen, L'Nel grew up having great things expected of him, though it was not revealed to him or the other initiates until a few months prior to his arrival at Ba Sing Se. He always was fascinated by the view the Temple granted him and took up sketching and painting early in life, giving his completed works away to anyone when he was allowed out of the temple with the other acolytes, but his true love had always been maps and what they could tell a person. He befriended his sky bison almost as soon as they met, not even having to tempt him with food. He and Uupos grew very close, he did the normal things the kids did, training, games, but they truly shined on the sky polo field, and were indistinguishable until a stray breeze caught the ball and slammed it into his nose. He accepted it with a smile and a laugh and continued playing until the game was finished and they landed again, where he collapsed.

When he came to, he was in the dark and had been out for four days, during which time they'd called for a healer from their Northern Water tribe neighbors. He'd apparently gotten a busted skull(or something, he forgot what exactly, since the next part was much more important to him, and much more frightening.) and had collapsed after the adrenaline from the game had worn off.

He overheard the elder monks discussing keeping him locked away in the Northern Air Temple, as he was considered reckless and having him run free was too much of a danger to himself. After hearing the conversation, he resolved to leave the temple and travel the world before returning, he'd always had a dream of mapping the world from high above. He left the next week, leaving Uupos behind so that he could travel without attracting as much attention. He intends to go back one day, just as soon as he finds what he intends to finish, namely mapping as much of the world as he can.

As such, over the last few months, the Monks have asked people to keep an eye out for him and to return him if they could, causing him to run from place to place, and his map work has suffered because of it. He came to Basingse to escape the attention one gets and has been trading sketches and working in the Jaded Badgermole - a respectable tea house frequented by both VIP's and the common folk - to eat as he continues his mapping of the city, and sketching, normally from atop the Earth King's Palace, or similar landmark buildings. He's been run off by guards multiple times, but hasn't been caught yet because of his ability to glide away and disappear in a matter of minutes. He is still in shock and awe over how many people live in the city. The idea is still alien to him.

Edit: added to his age a bit and bit back on his strength a little, since I'm trying to go for the young traveler/vagabond/vagrant feel.

Name: Kaira

Age:25

Gender:Female

Appearance:5'10", 120 lbs, tall, slender, and strong, Kaira keeps her curly flame-red hair cut short, it rarely reaches past her ears. She is most often wearing skin-tight pants and shirt underneath her Fire Nation garb,(more or less, she wears Kitara's outfit, but red, just because I can't think of how to describe it for some reason) Wears a scabbard at her right that holds two Jian swords in separate, but almost indistinguishable compartments.

Weapons/equipment: Two Jian swords in a single scabbard at her right hip, light chain shirt Fire Nation armor, and a change of clothes.

Backstory: Kaira was born to a family steeped in generations of bodyguards, from her great-great-great uncle who protected the Fire Lord himself, all the way to the current generation, her mother and father protecting the Fire Palace, her 3 brothers protecting notable generals and ambassadors around the world, and herself, protecting the Fire Nation's Ambassador Baku to Ba Sing Se. She is honor-bound to her nation, charge, and charge's family, in that order, and volunteered to be a part of the guard protecting the package going with Kavu.
That second profile is actually really interesting! Plus I think we need at least one non-bender in the group.

Name: Tai (tie) Shu-Jin
Age: 18

Gender: Male

Appearance: Tai?s look come mainly from his mother; short black hair, fair skin everything you?d expect from a Firenation child, what sets him apart is his eyes; a deep green betraying his Earth-Kingdom roots. He stands average at around 5ft 11 but with a slim figure and surprising upper body strength from working on his father farm.
Skills/Bending: Untrained fire-bender, instead he relies on an earth-bending style of combat. While typical Firebending is fast kicks and punches Tai?s style is much more solid a weighty, while he cant throw 50 fireballs a minute when he hits he hits hard with his full weight behind every punch.

Weapons/equipment: Nothing beyond the clothes on his back and a Pipa (http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Pipa) that belonged to his mother.

Backstory: Born on Shu Jin Island to a Fire-nation mother and an earth-nation father Tai was an outcast at birth, despite the years of peace between the 4 nations people still didn?t trust those of the other nations. He has no idea what lead his father and mother together, he ever asked, but it was Sozin who drew them apart. His mother was a former member of the Fire-Nation army, rather high rank, but had quit long before Tai?s birth, once Sozin began to scheme she was forced back into service leaving Tai?s fathe ralone with a 9 year old and Tai without a mother.
His father decided there was nothing left of him on Shu Jin and so as a pair they returned to the Earth Kingdom. As it turned out Tai was a firebender and once he began showing talent when he was around 12 he became a huge risk, untrained firebenders are bad at the best of time but when no one around knew anything about it he became a real issue. Deciding it was for the best his father decided to teach him control, earthbending techniques weren?t ideal but they were better than a kid running around throwing fire everywhere, in time Tai?s skill grew and while his style isn?t perfect it works. As he grew older Tai became fascinated by the other nations, specifically by the other forms of bending, surly is a firebender could us earthbending styles then they could also use air and even waterbending as inspiration. Once he reached 18 he left home eagerto learn from the other nations, his goal is the northern watertribe hoping to fine a master willing to give him a chance.

Sorry about the wired story, I?ve always been intrigued by this idea ever since Iroh mentioned he learnt from waterbenders. Also I seriously have no clue how you?re meant to write down fire-nation etc. Hyphenated? Timezones might make it difficult but it'd be great if you'll have me.

EDIT: Added a bit more to the none Backstory half, hope that's ok.

Okay, this any good?

<spoiler=Chezik>Name:
Chezik (Che-zik)

Age:
19

Gender:
Male

Appearance:
5'8"; short brown hair, brown eyes, light skin, slim, but fit build; Wears Fire Nation robes but has Air Nomad wristbands and Arrow tattoo along left hand and leg.

Skills/Bending: Chezik is a Firebender that likes to avoid a one-on-one fight, but if pressed can easily hold his own through a mix of a firebending skillset and the Air Nomad's dodging techniques. His preferred style involves waiting it out, then striking hard and fast. As such, the first couple of minutes in a fight is usually the hardest, as that's when Chezik would be surveying his opponent's strengths and/ or weaknesses.

Weapons/equipment:
Chezik has a fireproof vest under his robes, as well as a curved iron dagger strapped to his ankle (although it is rarely used), and a pouch near his waist containing a water canister and can hold a few days of food for long voyages.

Backstory:
Although Chezik's mother was from the Fire Nation, his father was an Air Nomad, and came from a prestigious line of Air Masters. He and his parents lived in the Northern Air Temple for most of his childhood.

At the Age of 9, his mother gave birth to twins, both of which go on to be air benders, ensuring his father's lineage will continue.

At the age of 14, while staying his grandparents in the Fire Nation for the year, Chezik discovered that he could Firebend, but kept this a secret until he returned to the Northern Air Temple. When he told his father, he was presented with 2 choices:
Leave the Air Temple and live with his grandparents and master firebending, or stay with his family, but no one would be able to teach him Fire-bending.

Chezik chose to stay at the air temple, on the condition that he train with airbenders, as several of the Nomad's self-defense practices translate well into fire-bending. During this time, Chezik became close friends with a non-bender, Wuye, who couldn't bend air either, in fact although he had Air Nomad tatoos, he resembled a Water Tribesman more than anything else. Both Chezik and Wuye excelled at acrobatics, but although Wuye was an amazing herbalist, over time the two drifted apart as Chezik focused more on his Fire-bending.
At the age of 17, one of Wuye's pranks went horribly wrong and Chezik was hospitalised for several weeks, soon after, Wuye left, and Chezik hasn't seen him since.
At the age of 18, Chezik left the Northern Air Temple for work and to train Firebending with his Grandfather on one of the Fire Nation colonies, bringing with him the Air Nomad's training and teachings, but leaving behind his Sky Bison Taat(Taught), which is now looked after by his mother and younger brother and sister. Before he left his mother gave him a curved iron Dagger, which had been handed down from one generation to the next, to the eldest child of their family.
Last month Chezik arrived in Bah-Sing-Se looking for any kind of work available, and for the past 2 nights has been using Kyoshi's Rest as the place to sleep at night.

Personality:
Intelligent but inquisitive, normally the first one to raid a shelf or cupboard, but not one to stroll through a backalley, tends to ask a lot of questions on things he doesn't know about, but he does know enough that this isn't commonplace. Quiet around strangers, talkative around friends. Likes to avoid a fight, but won't back down if confronted.for example:
If made fun of: laughs it off,
If someone pisses him off: will see what their problem is with him,
If he or someone else is getting mugged: Flamethrower to attacker's face.
Most of the time is happy, although emotions take a while to sink in ( for instance, the full scope of leaving home for the first time doesn't sink in for about a week) but after these emotional bursts adapts quickly to his surroundings (after 2 weeks with his grandfather, Chezik already has a job as a courier), this stems from living in comparitive isolation Air Nomads have compared to the other nations, as well as keeping his fire-bending a secret for nearly 6 months.

I can retcon some things if need be, just let me know.

P.S. I'm pretty sure some of the Fire Nation Colonies were around before the war started, it was stated in one of the episodes in Book 3 but it can be easily changed if need be.

Hey, just food for thought here, why not make L'nel and Chezik both descendants of the Avatar Yangchen? I mean she died at least 300 years before this roleplay (Kyoshi lived for a long-ass time, I'm saying over 2 centuries) and Chezik's dad comes from a long line of Air Masters so, it could work.....

Well there are 6 spots open, and as of right now there have been 6 characters:

1 water Bender
1 Non-bender
1 Air Bender
and 3 Fire Benders

BUT of those 3, 1 is an Air-Nomad Hybrid so having him changed would just shift the overlap onto Air AND 1 is an Earth Kingdom Hybrid so just trading abilities for that one wouldn't be too far of a leap would it?

Well it depends if they want to alter their character sheet. In any case, there's at least two more fresh sheets on the way.

It doesn't matter if there are a couple of the same sorts of characters. I should point out, I don't have an overarching plan where the team is concerned. I intend to choose the five best come sixth of June.

could be changed to Flint OR steel to reflect his Mother's heritage, your choice.
It's your character, you can choose. Bone was just out of keeping. If it was something he made because he wasn't totally in keeping with their lifestyle, fine, but you said it was a nomad dagger.

I could very easily make mine an earthbender trained with firebending style. Makes less sense really but I guess it could work.

It really depends what you want to do with it. I'm not making any committed selections until I've seen every sheet.
