avatar problems

earlier today i changed my avatar, but it did not show up. so i made it 75x75 and everything; and yet it still didn't work. the site accepted the image url i put in, but it didn't show it.


after giving up on that i tried to put back in my old avatar, only to have similar problems (it getting accepted as my avatar, but not shown)

this is what i'm trying to change it to-

for some reason i can't see it as my avatar. anyone know what the problem is?

EDIT: oh hey, the image in the post stopped working as well.... weeeird.

i'll get to the bottom of this.

EDIT2: alright fixed the image in the post and yet the url still won't work! arhg.

I see your avatar as a mad dancing guy with an umbrella.

I suspect that the site in question doesn't keep the images you make and you're supposed to save them to your hard disk and upload to wherever you want them.
(For image sharing, there's sites like photobucket, imageshack and imgur)

I suspect it's a "cache" issue. If you're in IE, press ctrl+F5, in firefox/chrome try pressing F5 and see if the image changes.

If not, you can empty the cache. I know firefox and chrome allow you to press ctrl+shift+del, and then you can tell it to clear the cache only (you may not want to clear out the other stuff).
Refresh the page and your new avatar should show if it uploaded correctly.
