AVG help needed

I need some help with uninstalling AVG because of corrupted memory but everytime I attempt to uninstall it it comes up with this. Local machine: installation failed
Installation:
Error: Action failed for file avi7.avg: creating backup....
Error 0x80070020 %DESTINATION% = "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Avg\avi7.avg.install_backup", %SOURCE% = "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Avg\avi7.avg"
Error 0x80004004
If anyone knows a way to fix this it would be much apprecited.

Edit:I forgot to mention Im using Avast whilst I cannot use AVG and I am using Vista Home 32Bit don`t know if that will help any.

Looks like that is the answer. I'll keep digging through the tubes to find anything better though.

Edit: [a href="http://freeforum.avg.com/read.php?12,173014,sv="]This[/a] might be better. Simpler, at least, in appearance.
