James Rolfe, more commonly known on the Internet as the Angry Video Game Nerd has revealed plans for making a movie based off his popular online series. The script was made two years ago but he has been holding out for a theatrical release. From the youtube video we see that he wants people to "spread the word" but also does not want it to be "overhyped."

It would be nice to see someone as talented and passionate about film-making (as well as video games) such as him to finally create a successful breakout hit. Followers on his website (cinemassacre.com) who watch his other videos have heard him time and time again that he yearns for the chance to make his first movie and see it in the theaters. Most likely, the web series he created could probably secure that attention and success he needs (as well as deserves).

So in response to this video and hopefully this isn't already covered on this corner of the internets, I'm doing my part and letting you all know - spread the word but don't overhype.

I like him, but I can't see how the AVGN persona could be implemented into a movie effectively.
He seems like a great person to do something like this, but I just don't think that the plot/idea he is putting in will be good.

From the video, he explained that the movie's plan is to follow a similar example of movies that started from simple sketches. He named a few but the idea is to expand on the world of AVGN and not do a cliche game review. From there, we can get an idea that it's not the same old AVGN plot or episode but something more.

James Rolfe is a genius in my eyes, I'm quite sure that the movie will turn out very good.

Don't you see? He's making a movie so he can make an artificial NES cartridge called "AVGN: The Movie: The Game!" He's planning to conquer the world with it!

Well, sarcastic conspiracy "theories" aside, I'm kind of interested to see where he goes with this. If the movie is about the character, rather than a big-ass game review, it might actually be an interesting watch.

Youknow... He seems like much more of a nice guy outside the AVGN videos.

I hate avgn and h loath his hole foul mouth bashing of bad video games, so i probably will avoid this if it ever comes out. Also do we realy need a movie of this i mean it seems kinda pointless? And what would it even be about?

I would hope it is about bad games.
