Eh, we'll find out later. Though I doubt that we'll do it today.

Interesting. Now, I would advise that we stop bumping the thread and wait for Fishtie's return. In the meantime, we could occupy ourselves with some books or videogames

[sub]How was that? Any advice?[/sub]

Sorry about the delay. It was entirely the fault of my own poor time management. We may begin... now! Additions will still be accepted, but please submit them, as well as any other OoC chatter, by PMs.

September 21, Friday

A cool autumn breeze drifted through an open window of Ms. Thenardier's office. The principle herself finished slowly looking over a stack of papers on her desk. Obviously taking longer then necessary she silently ignored the person seated across from her desk as she continued to read.

After a long silence broken only by the soft tinkle of a wind chime, she eventually looked up over her half-moon spectacles and spoke. "This number of serious discipline reports is abnormal." Her tone was neutral, almost uninterested, but her stare was unwavering.

"Well... The students just seem to be acting up a lot lately." Mr. Gregor explained, a touch of nerves in his voice. "Perhaps it's something in the air." The portly teacher dabbed at his brow with a handkerchief despite the cool temperature.

More silence.

"And I see a number of them will be taking part in the disciplinary activity." Ms. Thenardier continued as though there had been no pause.

Mr. Gregor seemed more comfortable with this subject. "Well yes." He humphed. "Quite a lot of them indeed. Well, they'll be the better for it I say."

"Some people might get concerned about this kind of thing."

"And what of it? We have our autonomy and that includes discipline." Mr. Gregor was getting almost prideful in his position now. "You simply take care of your part and leave the students to us."

Ms. Thenardier stared daggers at the teacher of a moment as she suddenly stood. He shrunk away a bit at the look, returning to his more nervous state. "Very well then, I will." Ms. Thenardier said as she swept out of the room, the door slamming behind her.

1:30pm

The autumn air also filled the large courtyard lying right behind the north gate of the school. A row of apple trees also showed the season with the first of their leafs now sporting a bright yellow coloring. Right behind the trees rose the tall brick wall that encircled the entire school. The only gap in the wall was filled by the massive wrought iron gates, covered with many designs and patterns of metal.

The courtyard was the location where the students had been told to assemble for the trip that was to come.

Ms. Thenardier calmly walked into the yard, her posture as tall, ridged, and intimidating as ever. Behind her trundled a small black box on wheels. The contraption was barely a few inches big on each side with four rubber wheels not much smaller. A single slender antenna extended up another few inches, and a single red glass circle adorned the 'front'.

Ms. Thenardier stopped and seemed to take a good long look at the students assembled. As usual her blank expression made determining her thoughts very difficult.

Then she spoke, her strong voice easily filling the entire open area. "Today you will go on a journey to a place totally alien to you. I can only hope that this punishment will cause you to think on what has brought you here." She paused a moment to let the words sink in a little.

"However I also hope that while away from the campus and staff, you will always remember to conduct yourself in a manor consistent with the highest level of dignity and respect; reflective of the school and your education." She continued.

Pointing now to the small robot at her feet, "This guide-bot will take you to the nearest entrance that you can use." Most of the students would probably recognize the small wheeled box as one of several in the school. Small automated guides for guests and new students.

Ms. Thenardier checked her watch for a moment before she concluded. "Now I wish you all enlightening travels and a safe return." With that she turned her back on the students and began heading back towards the large school building without a backwards glance.

As though moved by invisible hands the large iron gate slowly swung open with a mild screech of metal. The small guide-bot scooted over to the now open gate and stopped. It turned around and almost seemed to look back at the students with it's small red eye, seeming to invite them onto the road that now lay ahead.

John sighed. Just how he wanted to spend his day, exploring the depths of the Underworld.

He took a quick glance at the rest of the students around him. Although he'd seen most of them in passing, he didn't know them that well. This day just kept getting better and better.

David stared at Ms. Thernadier as she returned towards the main building. As soon as she disappeared inside the building, he turned his gaze towards the gate.

David had read many books about hell and it's inhabitants, but he never thought that he'd be going there himself.
He let out a quiet chuckle.

Well... This should be an interesting experience.

Hataki was near the back of the group in the courtyard. When Ms. Thenardier she felt something wrong, looking down at her left hand it started to shake, Don't lose you marbles here, it would be devastating. and she took a few deep breaths. The shaking quickly subsided, then she smiled a bit, with the feeling of her sword pressed up against her back, hidden by her shirt and hair.
This is going to be fun.

Joseph finally stood and hefted his day-sack onto his back, the '*****' of it's illicit contents only just audible. He turned and looked around at the rest of the students he would be traveling with.

"Damn, I'm the youngest here." Was the first thought to cross his mind.

David looked at Jack with a menacing glare and a feral grin.

"Well, it looks like you're the one who'll suffer that fate before her."

Hataki listened to the other students crack jokes, not really caring enough to listen to them. she made her way to the front of the group then walked towards the bot. she got close and looked at it, it had no intention of leaving until all of the students were ready.

"fine, i'll wait." she said towards the little thing, then walking over to the nearest wall and holding her hand up so she could see it, started to cause little arcs of electricity to go between her fingers. "I knew i made a good choice when i chose this focus." she said in general not caring if anyone heard her or not.

David saw that one of the students was waiting at the gate.
He turned away from Jack and walked towards gate, where he leaned against the wall and began reading one of the books from his bag.

John approached the guide-bot. Pretty simple set-up, a few wheels, a base, and an enchanted body, likely imbued with a living spell.

Glancing about, John noticed that most of the group had no intention of leaving anytime soon. Sighing, he turned back to the guide-bot. Pulling out a screwdriver, he began taking off the protective shell. He hoped the bot wouldn't react poorly to some simple tinkering; it wasn't like he was going to break it. Hell, he might even improve the thing.

David looked up from his book to see one of the students messing around with the guide-bot. He placed the book back in his bag and walked over to him.

"I don't think that's a very good idea."

hearing the comment about the boy tinkering with the guide bot Hataki decided to add her two cents.
"Might as well let him tinker with it, if i touched it it would probably be fried."
she held up both hands and an arc of electricity jumped between them.

David looked at the girl.

"Well, it just seems kind of unnecessary..." he said as he scratched the side of his head.

Turning around, John noticed one of the other students was talking to him.

"Eh, I know what I'm doing." A loud CRUNCH suddenly emitted from the guide-bot. "Oh, that's not good. Okay, uh let's see."

Reaching into his backpack, John pulled out a handful of scrap metal. "Okay, screw goes here, wires there, reinforce that... Good as new!"

Turning back to the other student, John mentioned, "Yeah, maybe you're right. I'm John by the way."

David looked at the guide-bot uneasily.
"David. David Ashworth." He walked closer to the little machine. "What is it that you did to it?"

Tasha looked around nervously for someone he might know. He'd been looking and finally decided to put on his glasses so he could see people better. No girlfriend. Best friend not here. The volunteer librarian guy was though. He was nice enough.
He waited for a little before speaking. [sub]"Ah. David. How are you today?"[/sub]
He smiled and waved at him.
He looked around everyone else realizing the blob he'd previously seen was someone tinkering with the guide bot.
[sub]"Y-you shouldn't do that..."[/sub] He mumbled. It wasn't like anyone could hear him.

"The thing is small and it looks like it has some trouble going across any sort of difficult landscape. so it needs any help it can get." she got off the wall and walked over to them, staying far away from the little bot to make sure she didn't accidentally fry it.

"Nice to meet you two, My names Hataki. I would offer a handshake but as you see." she held up her hand and sparks were jumping across tiny gaps in the skin, nothing that noticeable but for tiny flashes now and then. "it would hurt."

"David. Hataki. Nice to meet you."

"In answer to David's question, I wasn't really doing much. Just trying to figure out how it worked. Then my hand kind of slipped, and I broke a support piece in the frame. Nothing major, pretty easy to fix."

Turning to Hataki, John said, "Yeah, looks like that might sting a little. Can you turn those off at all?"

David nodded. "Nice to meet you both."
A soft whispery voice drifted into his ear. He looked away from the robot to find Tasha in front of the crowd of students. He made his way to him.
"Oh, hello Tasha. How are you today? Doing well I hope?"
