Tasha's laser cannon can only fire about three times a minute. And if it does it runs a serious chance of overloading.

Though you have a cybernetic arm with the >25K PSI crushing force which is over 5 times the force of the hydraulics system in a large jet. Most of you have a CQC weapon whilst a good few have heavy-duty ranged, arcane based, weaponry.

This is the weapon I'd like to replace the pistol with -

It fires .45 ACP rounds, still a pistol cartridge but more powerful. It's smaller than an MP5, but uses unique magazines.

Spoiler: Story behind it

The weapon was first created in an inter-departmental challenge with the Cadet group, History Dept. and Design and Technology Dept.. The aim was to (in groups) create a fully functioning weapons system out of junk and parts purchased during a 3 hour shopping excursion in the third week (out of 6). Harper's group won, by a small margin after it was found that the group coming first had bought a custom made chamber and welded it into the weapon. The weapon has since surfaced during Cadet exercises using blanks as an OpFor weapon and also makes a debut in the school introduction video on a stand of exceptional DT projects. The weapon was presented to Harper at the end of the challenge by the rest of his group as it was awknoledged that he may have saved them from killing themselves multiple times during the challenge. And blowing up the weapon. Or cutting off the barrel. Unfortunately he was ill the day someone sabotaged the mechanism.

The weapons selector switch is irrepairably broken. The weapon is slightly cursed as it can, any time the trigger is pulled fire in auto, safe, selective fire or three round burst. The only way to make the weapon safe is to perform a make safe drill or an unload drill with it. The 'heat sensitive' scope doesn't quite work either. Varying between heat, not working and something else which Harper is not quite sure about.

One thing's for sure - it may be unreliable but it's better than nothing.

Is this acceptable, or to overpowered?

"Anything i could possibly do to help?" Hataki asked kind of tilting her head to the side. "Though the only thing i'm good for is the ability to shoot electricity "out of my ass" as someone so kindly described earlier."

Overpowered? As you pointed out. Look at Tasha's arm. Note the point I was bringing up was that is if the laser cannon overloads the arm, the entire arm has to shut down and cool down.

I've got my saber and my battle-bot, which is moderately powerful. Then again, being able to upgrade it would be awesome, and would make sense with my character.

I have a massive problem with the SMG. Why not have both. SMGs tend to not take up very much space and the ammo is pistol grade so you could easily carry both. Or you could make the pistol higher caliber. which would honestly explain the slower rate of fire.

Could I upgrade the weapon I've got in my day sack from a bolt action pistol to something a bit bigger? I hadn't realised this would be such a combat heavy RP and I'm left with effectively a weapon which can fire (with accurate stance and drills) around once every 5 seconds a small calibre projectile with minimal force and no kind of occult or arcane add-ons.

(if you really need it) TLDR - My weapon is too shit as I underestimated the combat levels of the RP, does anyone object to me upgrading the weapon to something better, but not excessive?

I'll post the new weapon here in case anyone wants to look at it.

blueish white electricity started to form around her hands, Hataki noticed them and calmed herself. "Listen, i don't think anyone cares that you're a psychic. we're all stuck in this mess together, focus on whats happening now. Hell i like you more that you trust us with the knowledge of yourself."

So, you think I should take both. Right. Unless the OP has a problem with it then I'll take them. I still feel underpowered.

Reacting extremely surprised to Tasha's statement Hataki spoke up "God no , i don't mean it like that, i was thinking like a squad of soldiers bond, willing to trust each others life in each others hands at at time of danger. no relationship or hitting upon meant." Hataki then blushed a bit. "we were nearly back to back taking out those sirens!"

David looked at Hataki with sad smile on his face. She had a blush on her face and she was wringing her hands nervously. A tiny spark of electricity spark around them.
His eyes widened. "Hataki, come over here for a second." David took off his amulet.

Tasha looked confused and frowned. [sub]"Who said anything about hitting on anyone? Did I say anything like that?"[/sub] He went back over everything he'd said trying to figure out what she meant.

"Let me guess you want me to try to jump start the amulet like i suggested we do to the mirror. funny, i've never been able to use any mana or whatever its called but i have my electricity which i found out about at the school. i was considered a null for a while."

David put the amulet in her hands. "Alright, let out some of your energy into it."

Hataki closed her eyes and energy built up in her hands. she released and her hands were completely engulfed in electricity, purple this time. all of it was drawn into the amulet. "There we go, done. it felt different that time than any other i've used it before." inside the amulet a faint but visible purple spark was swimming around. Hataki then put the amulet on the table.

David grabbed the amulet and placed it around his neck. The buzz was noticably louder, but not much else was different. He scowled. "Hmm..."
He grabbed Hataki's hand and placed it on his head. "Pump your electricity into my head."
