We've all had them. They are the moments that rock your world. Moments that shift the paradigm of your reality (or non-reality) without a clutch.
Example: In playing Civ5, I was 2 turns away from finishing the Space Project (For Science!) and I clicked the next turn button. I did not realize it was the LAST TURN OF THE GAME.
I still won by strength of arm but I wanted to win the space race... for science.
So what, my Escapist acquaintances, is your moment?

Also please refrain from using this topic to bash ME3... I wanna hear something new, not smell the corpse of a horse I thought to be dust and bone.

I recently picked up Galactic Civilizations II in a Steam Sale, so I'm sure I'll have plenty of those stories from that game once I get more time to just sink into a really large galaxy.

This happens all the time playing CounterStrike.

Let's say you've snuck behind enemy lines. You and your silenced rifle have found an enemy combatant just standing behind a few boxes. You have a perfect shot lined up and he's not even moving. You crouch to steady your aim, slowly place your reticle upon his head. You fire. The bullet sails through the air and ricochets off your opponents helmet, seriously wounding him but not killing him.

In a moment of panic, your enemy wheels around, just barely makes out your image and fires wildly. His first shot, by the grace of the random calculation gods, arcs through the open air and directly between your eyes, killing you instantly.

This happens to at least one person, every round.

I was low on health, with no med kits, and even lower on EVE and ammo, in Fort Frolic, the multiple Big Daddies having worn me down, then...THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. "C'mon Mr.Bubbles!"

You gotta be friggin' kidding me. That's number five. FIVE BIG DADDIES.

The multiple Big Daddy fights, in rapid succession, mind you, in Fort Frolic and Poseidon Plaza were extremely frustrating.

I second FTL's Rebel Flagship. Just when the second for was finished, it landed a shot and destroyed what was left of the ship. So close to unlocking the Federation Cruiser too.

I've been playing Metal Gear Rising over the course of this week. Started out on hard mode and managed to get to the final boss without too much trouble. However the final boss is so insanely difficult to the point where you just gotta be kidding me.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be beating the final boss any time soon. It's a good thing the game itself is really pretty short.

Rebel Trollship

I found it's easier if you take out the main guns first. Helps if you've got a teleporter to put send in a couple of guys (or maybe 1, if it's Mantis or Rock) - they can kill the crew memeber and then take out the gun. The torpedoes are the most damaging ones, so that should be your main target. Also, after the first round, a part of the ship falls off, I believe it's the right one - so you don't need to worry about those two guns, too much.

It's still a matter of luck, mind you, but this should tip things in your favour.

Well, I did. or rather my ship did. I was like "Yaay, it's mine now" and then the game was like "Nope!" *a bajillion drones come out* "Problem?"

Yeah, it sucked. Still a fun game, though =)

As I am playing Metro 2033 as of now, I do have to say the stealth is horrible. But a good game overall, wish the game would get more attention.

Forgot to say the auto saves are broken and enemies always know where you are, so its all luck.

UMVC3 . I just lost 6 matches to a guy 3 ranks under me . Using x-factor level 3 wesker . Wesker dropped in the tier list , THIS SHOULDN'T BE WORKING . How am i still losing to such an old tactic ? A real blow to my self esteem .

It bends physics in a portal-y sorta way, except it's less focused around one concept and more around breaking reality in general. Every few minutes a floor will disappear from underneath you, or you'll be teleported to that same room you've had to find a different way out of five times now. There is literally a "you've gotta be kidding me" moment every 20 minutes.

Still... awesome game.
