when reading a fantasy story for school it read: "and darkness fell upon the land" and the power went out.
The only thing i can think of (thoough not really a coincidence) is that i started drinking tea at my grandmothers wake.

I have a really odd and amusing knack of often being able to look at a clock exactly when it shows a triple number time (like 1:11, 3:33, 4:44, etc).
It doesn't matter how far off track the clock is, if it's in another timezone, or missed Daylight Savings Time. If its a clock, and I am around it when it hits a triple number, chances are I'll look straight at it when it shows.
No, I don't try to do it, it just happens, and it makes me chuckle every time. Oh, and it really confuses my parents and some of my friends ("Heh, I did it again. (Pointing at clock)" "Wha-Oh what the...how do you keep doing that?!")

My friends are born on the same day as Hitler, their Dad's birthday is D-Day and my birthday is the day that the US declared War on Japan.
