This story requires a little bit of back story, so here goes: A few weeks ago my girlfriend came up for a visit (She lives in Texas, I live in Washington State) We were at the mall and after she drug me a nail salon I drug her into a gamestop. To my surprise they had used copies of Persona 4 and Okami for PS2. I didn't have the money that month to buy either so I was pretty bummed. Fast forward a month and I'm talking to her on the phone when I mention that I picked up Persona but Okami was sold out.

So today I'm recovering from the debauchery of my recent birthday (yay I managed to not die for another year in a row!) And I check the mail. In a bright and shinny package along with a birthday card that burps the happy birthday song (best card ever!) is a copy of Okami that she bought me... Holy shit I'm marrying this girl at some point.

Anyway thanks for letting me ramble and gloat about dating the best girl ever. To tack on some discussion value, what's best gift you've received or given to a significant other? (Or to just anyone in general, cause why the hell not?)

This laptop [http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Gaming_Powerhouse/G51J/] that I'm typing on right now.
I got it as a Christmas present from my parents a couple years ago after my dad told that there was no way he would get me a new computer.

I'll 'science-geek' out here.

Because of my rather weird status at high school, I was going to miss a theatre trip for the chemistry students to see 'Copenhagen'. I mentioned this only in passing to my then gf and didn't thiunk that I seemed that disappointed. A couple weeks later and she presents me with not two, but four tickets to see it on consecutive weekends. Even though the actual events were banal (not the play, the play was awesome in a history-of-science-gasm way) I really appreciated it.

In return, I got her a necklace with a snake & scorpion design that I knew she liked the look of on one of our weekends away in rural England. She still wears it and I don't know whether that's depressing or not.

When my mum went to Hong Kong by herself, I give her an images list of which Gundam models I would like for her to get for me (I only show her three images since she won't the names and images). During her trip over there I was dissapointed that she was unable to find two of them because they were rare now.
However when she came back she got me this model-
Needless to ay my jaw drop upon seeing the sheet awesome of it (it got a freaking katana)! This came as a huge suprise since this was the time when I didn't use the internet alot (so I had never seen it online until that day). She said that it was on sales and popular during that time. Youwon't believe how much I ha said thaks you to her.
