I know Linux isn't the first thing you think of when you think "PC gaming". Most are simply clones of other games and the ones that aren't are cross platform anyways, but there are a few gems.

I'm not much of a PC gamer but I have found some games that help pass the time. Unfortunately, the only ones I can think of are cross-platform. AssaultCube was decent if you don't mind the multitude of one-hit-kill sniper servers. Cave Story is amazing (still haven't beaten it). And then there's Minecraft...yeah.

So, can you think of any great games out there that run on Linux?

Sounds like you need to discover WINE!

But as for native games, ... Urban Terror wastes 90% of my linux gaming time.

You can also try PlayOnLinux to make installation of Windows-version games on Linux easier. It also provides a good list of Windows-version games you can install and run on Linux, from WoW to Dragon Age.

As for Linux-native games, sorry, I can't really think of really good ones off the top of my head. Battle for Wesnoth, maybe?

Pretty sure most of Spiderweb Software's games have Linux versions.

EMULATE WINDOWS
but you can get the freeware version of Doom 1 or Light cycles
or emulate other machines (this is legal if you own(ed) the game already)
