Yes, they were both Axis Forces.

But, I've never heard of the Japanese being called Nazis.

But technically as a group they were the Axis forces. The Nazis were athe German political party in power. They just put their symbol on everything. A lot of Germans weren't Nazis.

In answer to the OP, Yes it should, but it won't because I don't think people care as long as their shooting zombies.

So, really, you're trying to change a nickname, so that it makes sense. Which... Doesn't make sense.

You are correct, it was an abbreviation. Can't guarantee you got what it stood for correct, but you are close, if not perfect.

I think that players started calling it that, and they took it up because less people knew it as "Nacht der Untollen" than knew it as "Nazi Zombies". Are they ever referred to as "Nazi Zombies" in the game itself?

Fine. I put an extra 'n' in "cannot". I am using a Firefox that doesn't allow a spellcheck. It's shit - however I spelled "antagonising" right. It is regional spelling with an 's' instead of a 'z'.
