I've always wanted to start a B-Movie festival. Truth is, I'm starting one in June with you guys. I've posted the idea in some User groups.

However, I have to admit that I don't know much about B-movies other than Evil Dead and the Ed wood movies. I'm going to ask you guys for help. Do you guys know some really good B-movies?

I have to suggest Zombie Strippers (link safe for work). It was written by Robert Englund, the guy who played Freddy Krueger, and features Jenna Jameson as a zombie stripper (despite that, I promise, it's not porn).

Hmm... not much else can be said about that one-- it's corny, but I found it delightful.

"They're zombies!"

"No, they're strippers!."

"No." (pumps shotgun) "They're zombie strippers."

Evil Dead is all you need

But actually, I don't know many B-Movies except Evil Dead.

But I guess The Blob, Gamera, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Cannibal Holocaust, The Brain That Wouldn't Die or Those! counts right?

And I expect Furburt here any second.

Watch Ray Harryhausen's 50's films. I would suggest 'The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms', 'Earth vs the Flying Saucers', 'It Came from Beneath the Sea' and '20 Million Miles to Earth'. Those are 'decent' B-Movies. If you want to go lower, see things like 'Robot Monster', 'The Blob', the ever popular 'Plan 9 from Outer Space'. Just look up B-Movies on google, you can never go wrong.

House on Haunted Hill. It's pretty good. I don't know if it counts as a b-movie though, but you may still wanna check out the original.

Here's a list of my personal favorite movies that are by no means good, but are very entertaining:
Schwarzenegger has to have a couple of movies on that list. If I must pick favorites, it's hard to wrong with these ones:
Commando
Predator
Kindergarten Cop
Total Recall

If you're going for a more horror approach, I've heard that Peter Jackson's earlier works are great in that sense. But I've heard the best of them is:
Dead Alive

I'm a big fan of Will Smith, and while his movies aren't necessarily "B-Movies" by everyone's definition, they're entertainingly bad[footnote]Men in Black and Independence Day were left off this list for being too close to actually good movies. Rest assured I have no lack of love for either.[/footnote]. In particular:
Wild Wild West
Bad Boys 1&2

If you want to go with wacky sci-fi and fantasy, there are a few classics and some lesser known ones I can recommend. Here they are:
Time Bandits
Heavy Metal
Highlander
The Road Warrior
Epoch
Mortal Kombat
Immortal

And if you will allow me to combine this with the first category, then:
Red Sonja
Conan the Barbarian
(best watched with commentary on)

While not always "B-Movies", old school Jackie Chan movies are super campy, super entertaining and contain a load of awesome stunts and martial arts. I highly recommend:
Police Story
Police Story 2
Police Story 3: Supercop
Jackie Chan's First Strike: Police Story 4
The Drunken Master
(not to be confused with The Legend of the Drunken Master)
and even...
Rush Hour

Those are just a couple of my favorites, I may come back when I remember more...

I said it in the classic movie suggestion thread and I'll say it here, They Live. A movie directed by John Carpenter and starring Rowdy Roddy Piper. If you watch South Park and remember the fight between Jimmy and Timmy, it is a shot for shot remake of one of the greatest fights ever in a movie taken from They Live.

Flash Gordon.

FLASH FUCKING GORDON!

It is the best B-Movie of all time.

Just watch that and tell me it isn't great. Brian Blessed flying around with a stick beating up space ships. What more could you ask for?

Country
USA
Phantasm
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls
Krull
Gorilla At Large
Prophecy (the 1979 monster movie. Not the one with Christopher Walken)
Robot Monster
Dungeons & Dragons

Get a cliffhanger serial, full version that's still broken up into chapters, and play a chapter between each movie. Any will do as even the best of them are kind of cheesy. I recommend The Phantom Empire, Captain America, Adventures of Captain Marvel, Either of the two Batman serials, and Undersea Kingdom.

Where the hell is Furburt?

OT: All I can think of right now is Zombie Strippers, Evil Dead, and The Blob.

I find them fun.

I dunno does John Carpenters The Thing count as a B movie, because that movie is pretty badass.

Wild Zero, Tokyo Gore Police, and Machine Girl are all excellent B-movies. I should probably mention they're all Japanese and only Machine Girl was dubbed in English as far as I'm aware, though I personally think that just makes the first two more epic.

"I'm a Cyborg, but That's Okay", "Brother", "American Yakuza 2: Back to Back", "True Lies", "Chaos", and "the Way of the Gun" are all good B-Movie picks.

I also suggest you watch Day of the Triffids.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the Lion King was a b-movie. Technically. It was given to thier B-Team.
