Not sure I ever want to have kids. But if I did end up with one I'd want them to have a pretty standard name. That way, they can be whatever sort of person they like.

For boys, gospel names (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) are good. For girls, things like Elizabeth and Sarah. Alternatively, whatever everyone else is calling their kid at the time! "Juliet" seems to be in fashion at the moment.

Girl: Slania (yes it is a real name)
Boy: Canas (Not so sure about this one,it is the name of my favorite character from Fire Emblem 8, but I'm not naming the kid for a video game character, I just liked the name)
The chances that I would find someone who would actually be willing to go along with these odd names is slim, but I'm hoping I can push for the middle name when I decide to ruin my life.

I think I would like to call my son something along the lines of Tyrfingur, Ásvaldur or Bjarnharður. Just something that is a bit unusual but still something that feels old.

For a girl, I've always really liked Noel, and for a boy... I don't really know, I'd love to name them Samwise, but I get the feeling whoever I marry wouldn't be OK with that.

Isn't that a Mortal Kombat character? Sounds like a MK character.

Anyway, names. I never thought about them as "baby names". They're just pretty names I'd choose one day if I had a daughter. Sofia, Bia, Lia, Maria Flor, Laís, Júlia, Juliana, Fernanda, Manuela, Gabriela, Clarice, Ísis, Cléo.

Lot of male names for me to pick between. All inspirations to me. Christopher (Hitchens),Richard (Dawkins), Charles (Darwin), Edward (Jenner) for boys. Unfortunately, history has been a bit of a dick to women and I don't like the name Marie, so I used Nikola Tesla's name for a girl.

No specifics yet, but I know I want them to have Norse names. Keep some of our culture alive.
Problem is that the good ones are a bit too common these days. So many Tor and Freja out there.

While I have absolutely no intentions to have children any time soon, I've thought it would be interesting to give my son the middle name of Bartholomew. Don't know why, I just do. Who knows what I would choose for a first name or anything, but again I have no intentions to have children in the near future.

I don't have any specifics, but I do intend to use the full version of any name I give my kids.
Seems silly to use a contraction for a full name.

I do have a plan to choose names though, it involves taking a book of names, a group on about 10 people including my partner, my closest friends and at least 1 person with the sense of humour of a 12 year old, a locked room and an ample supply of booze. Hopefully we will leave that room with a name that we will like, and that can't instantly be corrupted into something nasty by the first person to dislike my son/daughter.

Eh, it's not that weird to pick 'em.
Heck, I've got a few and I don't even have a girlfriend.
Evangeline, Valory, Freyja or Rosett, Grace McCormack for a girl,
and Joshua, Cid or Chrona, Patrick McCormack for a boy.

My wife and I had a list of names for our son before we met him and they all got thrown out the window. For months, we were solidly set on Griffin Leo, Dorian Gray, or Kieran Alexander. When we met him, we found out none of them worked. So in a scramble, we came up with Rylan Alexander, and that is what we went with. I am quite happy with the name, and it fits him perfectly.
My daughter is named Devin Alysia-Rae. Much easier decision for her.

It's highly unlikely that I'd ever have kids, but I do really like the name Roslyn. As for a boy, while I like the name, I doubt that I'd name my son Ezra.

My first son is going to be named Nikias, after an OC of mine that I've had for years and means a lot to me. My lover has already consented to this, knowing how much Nikki means to me.

...unfortunately, I have commissioned quite a bit of porn of the boy and when he's eighteen, I fully intend on letting him see the folder of porn I have of a femboy neko-jin shaking his rump and explicitly telling him that that was who he was named for.

I'm an evil dad, I know.

My girlfriend and I joke about baby names a fair bit. Top of my list right now are Judd, Kentavious and Shabazz. She thinks it's cruel to name a white Australian baby either of the last 2 though.

I've always had a thing for the name Kincaid. When I used to play games, I would name my characters Kincaid, and my girlfriend at the time told me that Kincaid sounds more like a middle name, but Kincaid would be a great first name. It's one I never hear anymore, barring the painter Thomas Kinkade, but his spelling would be different, unless I think the "e" at the end wouldn't work, for whatever reason.

I've never thought about a middle name, just because I think whoever I date/marry should have some say, but I'd want a Kincaid in the world someday.

As for Girls, I've always wanted to name a girl Meryl, from Metal Gear Solid, and I concede that that's the only reason I'd want a girl to have that name.

I've also remembered that in my youth, I misspelled something on my phone once, and wrote it down on a piece of paper, and it looked like a name to me: Alsace.

Looked it up since it didn't come up as a misspelling on my laptop: Alsace isn't a typo, it's a Region in France. That'd be a cool name for a girl, I think.

Not that I plan to ever abandon my 'no-love' policy, and my 'no child' policy, I would name her Fay, because Fay after one of my RP characters. It has an archaic definition of "Bring together" which could also be a representation of my hypothetical husband while the character herself is quite strong and independent. It also just is nice and simple. If it's a boy... Well snip it's spine and try again.(I'm kidding)
