I've said this before in simular threads, but you can't go wrong naming your kid Thor + Bear.

You can in English. Thorbear sounds awful. It's almost as goofy sounding as Zeus Eagle. XD

We got tons of Norse names that become weird if you translate them. Sten(Rock) is a legit name here, as is Bo(kind of like "to live") and Bror(brother). Björn and Ulf(from ulv, the old spelling for varg which means wolf) are quite common as well.
Anyway... Thorbear is awesome!

No, no, mostly just Gudrun... and Brünhilde, but that one has more to do with someone I knew.

Also it's not the meaning so much as I irrationaly hate "word names" in English. Especially ones like Wisdom, or Faith... I don't know why. Sophia and Thorsten are fine, for example, even though I know what they mean.

If it's a boy, I want to name him after a Roman or Byzantine Emperor. Something along the lines of Caesar, Titus, Numerian, Honorius, Constantine or Mourtzouphlos.

If it's a girl, I'll let my wife name her, and whatever she chooses I'd accept.

My mom every time I got pregnant wanted me to name a boy Ashley. I had to disappoint her. Hell no. When I was younger I liked the name Davnon for a boy. Also liked Abbyka and Mysteria for a girl. But age knocked some sense into me. I've stuck with old but not weird names for my boys. Though my youngest's name isn't THAT uncommon. Hell, I named him after Leon Kennedy. Still, there's not going to be 10 other Leons in his class when he's in school. My husband named our daughter(which sometimes I regret since she lives up to her namesake after the Goddess of Chaos).

I talked with a friend of mine not so long about this and we agreed Xenomorph is the most fitting for a parasite that will most likely outlive you. So I am hoping she will name her unborn boy that.

I'm a guy with an unisex name. (A name that could be used for both gender. Like "Pat") So, I think it would be cool to have my daughter named after me. I don't know how serious I will be if the opportunity comes up.

For a daughter, I like Lucinda. I remember one woman with that name went by shorten nicknames "Lucy" and "Cindy".
For a son, how about Buck. You don't see very many people named "Buck". One name is due for a come back. Adolph. We really need to reclaim that name from the Nazis.

Ah, I've got a somewhat hard set of rules to follow for naming my children.

You see, I have an interacial family coming up, and we don't want our children to have two names. So we need to pick a name that works in both English and Chinese. For example, &#30591;&#26114; (Rui'Ang) sounds like Ryan, and so works in both languages well.

My children as well are half blood Italian-Chinese, and before they were born I discussed the issue of naming with my wife - but since we are going to live in the West for the foreseeable time, she decided to go for western names that will help them mix more easily with their peers.

As a Catholic I preferred names that belonged to Saints, as it's tradition (not a rule, mind you), and we went for those that are easier to transliterate in english since we live in the UK.
