A) I think it was Sonic Riders for the GameCube... I mean, <url=http://img.gamefaqs.net/box/8/7/2/70872_back.jpg>have you seen how many blocks that game takes up in total? OUTRAGEOUS!

B) Back in my day, X-Play's review of Kingdom Hearts 2 was also on the same episode as the review for Odama!

The last game I bought based on the back of the box was Dragon Age Origins. The front of the box was nearly enough but the back? It toppled me over the edge and I had to have it. My life has never been the same since. Otherwise, ever since I've just kinda read about them online and then went out to buy them. Though of course I still look at the back of game boxes. I buy books all the time so it's just habit for me to pick up something and instantly go to the back of the box.

A) You know... I can't recall a time where I did that, nor if I even did. Usually it's the front cover, a commercial, seeing it at a friend's place, or after reading a review in a magazine. I'm usually pretty cautious as to what I spend my money on, so I usually needed some sort of verification as to whether or not the game was to my liking.

B) I will say, though, as a kid, any game that had a pretty anime girl somewhere on the cover usually caught my attention. That lead to my JRPG phase.

A) Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and the expansion pack The Frozen Throne. This was back when I played games a lot but wasn't part of the gaming community in any way, shape, or form. I didn't visit gaming related websites, I didn't follow gaming news, I didn't read gaming magazines, I didn't ever play multiplayer. My single and only interaction with video games was actually playing them, nothing more. Damn, those were the days. Anyhow, young me walks into massive electronics store not knowing jack shit about Blizzard, or previous Warcraft games, or that these are pretty popular, or what on earth WoW (or even an MMO) is, and see a game that has a funny looking orc on the front, and next to it a game with an eerily similar title and cover featuring a thoroughly disgruntled man. Flipping them over, I saw vibrant and colourful screenshots that captivated me instantly.

B) Back when I wasn't as into gaming as I am now, I didn't really buy games often. Usually, I could play and have fun with the same game for half a year, or even more. I remember replaying KotOR at least 6 times back-to-back, and I could sink endless hours into simple matches against AI in the above mentioned Warcraft III. Now, with a massive backlog, I power through the story or campaign of any given game and I'm on to the next one.

A) I think it was some shady Russian monstrosity called Red alert 2 Yuri's revenge 2. It might have been a mod of some sort, but i didn't care enough to find out since it was broken as fuck and i didn't have internet to look into it.

B) Back in my day i could borrow a PC game from a friend and play it without an internet connection.

a)Dawn of War Dark Crusade. I was getting one of them "3 games for £10" things and I picked it based on the back cover since it reminded me of Age of Empires III(Didn't know fuck all about games until funnily enough, I joined this site)

b) Configuring the three A/V cables into a SCART lead.

Man, those were the days.

I had to get Super Mario 64 running all by myself back when I was like, 6. The video worked fine enough, but there was no sound.

A)Uuuuuhhhh.....Holy shit I can?t remember the last time I bought a game solely based on the back of the box...I mean when I was a kid you rented games based on the back of the box. Buying a game was a very rare thing for me because...well you know that shit was expensive and my parents weren?t made out of money, And then by time I was able to buy games on my own...sort of. The internet had already fully spread its wings so you know...you looked that shit up so you didn?t end up buying/renting shit. Yeah I?m not made out of money either. Buying stuff was still super rare when I was a teen.

Uuuummm okay I think I got it. It was in 2006 spring Leisure Suit Larry Magna Cum Laud. Because I was a teenager and boobs duh.

B)Back in the day a game would work 100% guaranteed on day one.
