A) Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and the expansion pack The Frozen Throne. This was back when I played games a lot but wasn't part of the gaming community in any way, shape, or form. I didn't visit gaming related websites, I didn't follow gaming news, I didn't read gaming magazines, I didn't ever play multiplayer. My single and only interaction with video games was actually playing them, nothing more. Damn, those were the days. Anyhow, young me walks into massive electronics store not knowing jack shit about Blizzard, or previous Warcraft games, or that these are pretty popular, or what on earth WoW (or even an MMO) is, and see a game that has a funny looking orc on the front, and next to it a game with an eerily similar title and cover featuring a thoroughly disgruntled man. Flipping them over, I saw vibrant and colourful screenshots that captivated me instantly.
B) Back when I wasn't as into gaming as I am now, I didn't really buy games often. Usually, I could play and have fun with the same game for half a year, or even more. I remember replaying KotOR at least 6 times back-to-back, and I could sink endless hours into simple matches against AI in the above mentioned Warcraft III. Now, with a massive backlog, I power through the story or campaign of any given game and I'm on to the next one.
