The year is 1862. The vast Empire of the Marathan Republic stretches across the known world, from Canada to Brazil to Britain to Sri Lanka. All other worldly nations have been swept aside. Satara, the capital of the world, grows wealthier every day.

It's boring as Hell. The world that I now own seems eerily empty.

So what do I do? I raise my taxes. I disband all of my troops. I wait. Bit by bit, my Empire rises up against me, new nations arise and old ones return, severely weakened. All I have left is one city, and everyone hates my guts. I look at the now much more colourful map of the world and think: "Here we go again!"

The question I pose to you is this: have you ever gotten to the very top of your game in a, erm, game, then gone right back to the bottom to start afresh?
