Firstly, I searched, and I couldn't find an "Escapist complaints" thread. Am I just being incompetent, because surely we'd have one, right? This thread will most likely be locked, but having the complaint out there is the goal.
I'm going to use "lag" for lack of a better word. Lag being choppiness of motion, etc.
These background ads for EVE and such are really laggy. The ads scrolling with the browser seems to be what's doing it. We had the Age of Conan ad that stayed in one spot when you scrolled, and it didn't lag at all. Maybe we could switch to background ads that act simply as a tiled background or even just staying at the top of the page? This way, navigation wouldn't be such a chore, and those with slower interweb crawlers would be more able to browse and contribute to the Escapist.
