Background bug?

Now, this may just be my computer [which is getting cramped, getting an external HDD soon], or the fact that my browser could be outdated.
But have any of you noticed a marked sluggishness in scrolling and so forth on this site? It appeared around the time the animated Christmas background was uploaded.

I'd write to a mod or something, but I'd like to see if anybody else has this problem. As it stands now, there's a 2-second delay between my keystrokes and the appearance of characters onscreen.

Edit: Also, the text seems to have gotten smaller and perhaps changed font.

No, mine seems fine. No noticeable delay at all.

My computer does that sometimes, normally with a virus scan running. So I don't have that with just a browser open, no. Only games and scans really slow down the escapist.

Havent noticed. Though I'm back at my parents for christmas and am on the super Ubuntu rig my dad has... and nothing runs slowly on it.

Maybe if I check back in on my laptop later.
