Gotta love it.

Me and my friend, up late as we usually are, were browsing Myspace when he showed me a song called "Love Kills" by Vinnie Vincent Invasion. I told him to play it and we both laughed at the cheezy goodness that was the song. Afterward we both agreed that even the worst of the 80's Metal scene could pummel the living daylights out of today's rock landscape. What I would like to know is do you guys have any fun old bad 80's bands that you hold dear to your heart? Additionally, comment on the comparison to Horrible 80's Hair Metal and today's Metal and hard rock.

Most people (including myself) aren't even old enough to have listened to anything during the 80's other than Fraggle Rock. So yeah, a lot of it seems silly and stupid to us, but in 20 years I bet a lot of the pop today will seem silly to kids born after it.

On that note:

Poison
I Want Action

I want action tonight
Satisfaction all night

I grab my hat and I
grab my shoes
Tonight I'm gonna hit
the streets and cruise

Down the main strip and
check it out
With those schoolgirls
a hangin' around

Now I'm a sucker for a pretty face
I don't care if she's in leather or lace
cause I'm just lookin' for a little kiss

Chorus:
I want action tonight
satisfaction all night
You've got the love I need tonight

Long legs and short skirts
These girls hit me where it hurts

I can't wait to get my hands on them
I won't give up until they give in

Now I'm not lookin' for a love that lasts
I need a shot and I need it fast
If I can't have her, I'll take her and make her

Chorus, solo

Hey, sweetheart, slide on in here
No, not in the front, jump in the back
Why?
Cause there's something back there I want to show ya
I want action tonight
Satisfaction all night
Ah, come on honey, I wasn't that bad!
Oh, well

Chorus out

Took the liberty of correcting your terminological inexactitude there. Hope you don't mind.

I sort of agree but that doesent mean I like it all, I'd rather listen to Sonata Arctica rather than Iron Maiden but thats just me, mind you I dont think most old bands are appreciated enough, e.g. Helloween. And as a beside my hair style is the 80s metal look although I'm gonna get it cut to look like 80s rock even tho there not very diferant, also I'v got those rock style shades, the big ones.

It's like any 'fashion' will be eventually - great at the time, but unbelievably embarrassing when you look back on it...

Hair metal spawned alot of metal that we listen to today, it was damn good then, and only getting better. ok ok, so the vocals were sometimes a bit silly, but the music was awesome. and the fashion? well i wake up every morning wishing i was old enough then to wear tight lycra pants, and back comb my huge hair...

A sample of a Krous track:

Burnin' up the night
Everythin's gonna be all right
Don't give up the fight
Burnin' up the night.

They may as well have sung baa baa black sheep for the rebellion it inspired.

I can't wait for the Emo crowd to look back in 15 years.

I was the Grunge generation, so I'll always look back with awesome.

Apart from the tie-die leggings.
Damn you Pearl Jam!!!

I've just always hated the drum production on 80's metal, where they stick so much reverb on the snare that it sounds like he's playing in a toilet the size of a stadium. Though at least back then they didn't try to act as scary as they do today. Metal bands nowadays all look constipated cuz they're scowling so much.

Your search for the worst hair band has endeth. There's an interview with them where a good amount of them have pink hair. Towards the end of the interview one of the guys says "Show them your roots boys."

They put their finger in their hair and start flipping their hair up and down. My friend and I died laughing.

Only one thing springs to mind here: Old Pantera.
And despite looking and sounding exorbitantly camp Dimebag still managed to kick ass...

A friend is a propper 80's cock-rock nut. He always has the Whitesnake, Def Leppard, or Motley Crue on and it's hell whenever he requests songs in bars. Never seen a place empty so fast in my life as when he requested "Pour Some Sugar On Me".

Not for me, I'll take the good stuff from the 80's like Metallica, Megadeth and Guns n Roses (even though they were a bit hair metal). That decade truly had possibly the best and worst music ever.
