So, I recently got my hands on BC2 through Steam. I go through the whole shebang, and get into the single player. To my chagrin and dismay, I realize that the movements feel extremely sluggish. I move my mouse and nothing occurs on screen for at least half a second. Someone jumps down, and it seems like it's happening at half-speed. Why is this happening? Is there something up with my settings?

Edit: No one knows? Because I checked on Google and people said they had the same problem, but in the beta.

Strange. The best I can offer is to check that your video card's drivers are up to date, I'm really not sure what's going on.

Have you tried lower graphics to see if there's an improvement? Although you run other games fine, it could be that this one is pushing your graphics card. Though I could be completely off, I am still new to this whole 'PC' thing.

I have a similar problem with Amnesia. I've updated my drivers, but it runs slow, to such an extent that I can't actually get past the opening menu. x.x

From those symptoms, I'd guess DirectX is being troublesome.

Is it just the input that lags, or does the rendering go slowly too?

If you're in Vista or Windows 7, you could try forcing it down to DirectX 9 to see if it makes a difference. There are probably guides on the internet for doing that.

Make sure to try all the normal things, like restarting, reinstalling etc. If you have a laptop then make sure its not in powersaver mode.

If I had to guess it's the input. What I do with the controls isn't immediately translated into the game. To give you an idea, it would feel like you were underwater.

Did you try DirectX 9? You can change it in the settings file in your documents folder.
