I know there is tons of hype surrounding MW2 (And rightly so. The first MW was freaking awesome). But with all this hype, sometimes we can lose sight of other war games that are in our near(ish) future. Namely, BF Bad Company: 2. Yes another game to add to the list of sequels, but one that (As a PC gamer) I am looking forward to. I already put in my pre-order at GameSpot for the Bad Company 2 special edition. Anyone else putting pre-orders in for this game yet? Or do you think that the BF franchise has been eclipsed by the Modern Warfare games?

It looks better than MW2 did, in my opinion.
I'm hoping it's as good as the first.

This game is definitely one of the games that don't become the fullest they can be until the sequel. I am really looking forward to it.

Not looking forward to it. Thought the first one was awful. Might rent it sometime though, see if it has improved at all.

I loved the first one for the humor.

I'm afraid the second would just become serious. It'd become a generic FPS.

no. BFBC2 will be a MUCH bigger step forward from BFBC than MW2 is from MW. They're putting a ton of work into the Frostbite engine because they're going to be using it on a lot of blockbusters in the coming years.

Fully destructible environment, even full multistory buildings collapsing
Much better particle effects & HDR / SSAO
More customization than MW2 (even w/ perks)
Can level up on individual weapons & when you kill some1 it shows them what rank you are w/ the weapon.
Customization of how each persons soldier looks too
Vehicles in some maps (that you can drive or fly. planes, tanks, ATVs, Humvees, helicopters, predator drones, etc..)
12 v 12 (instead of 9 v 9)
WAY Better Sound

I've been following BC2, and they claim about 15000 potential combos.
and i have no idea where you are getting this level up of weapons. attachments, sure, i've seen reflex/ACOG sights on various guns, but not as many batshit insane things as MW2.
Also, i Didn't see where you're getting the custom soldier options either... there are still the basic classes, and they each have an associated model for each faction, but that;s it as far as i know.
Don't get me wrong, i firmly believe BC2>>>MW2, just not on those points.
Also, i'm pretty sure all the maps will have vehicles.

I went in to gamestop on monday and transferred my MW2 PC preorder to Bad Company 2. The guy at the checkout was really shocked at first until I told him my MW2 preorder was for PC. Then he understood and promptly changed my preorder.

On their twitter a few days ago they had a link to an interview. In that interview they disclosed those things.

Bad Company 2 is going to kick ass. So looking forward to it, the first game was good and this one looks even better.
P.S. But, for the love of everything that's holy, would you please stop comparing it to Modern Warfare 2. Am I the only one who wants to buy both of those?

I'm not too fussed to be honest, I didn't think all that much of the last game. I might rent it if it gets good reviews.

BC2 has destructible enviornments, guns and a multiplayer mode?

Wow. If they do it right, it might be possible to defeat a turtling team by simply crashing a building on them. Or making people fall from the roof by using a grenade on the ceiling... Or maybe even shooting through the ceiling.

Cool.

I'm getting both. CoD for an awesome (but short) singleplayer and addtictive multiplayer.

And bad company for it's visuals, multiplayer an' destructable envoierments (Not interested in it's single player campaign now that they're going all serius with it).

If they keep the humor of the first game, and the great storytelling and tighten up the gameplay and graphics too, BF:BC2 could be a fantastic game. I'm really looking forward to it, too bad it doesn't come out until next year.

I'll definitely be getting this bad boy when release date rolls around. I'll probably get the Special Edition too, I fancy the idea of running around a modern battlefield with a tommy gun :D The other extras seem pretty neat too.

I love the look of this game, it's just really crisp, and amazingly pretty :D And by the loooks of it, it's the spiritual successor to BF2, the gameplay looks like an improvement on all the stuff that made BF2 good.

So yeah, totally stoked for this game.
