What choices have you made in your vidja games that either made them less fun, way too hard, ect.

For me, it was in kingdom hearts 1. I chose to focus my skills on magic. I finally learned in Agrabah, that the way the magic controls were implemented, I made a bad choice to focus on magic.
I had to grind for hours to get my melee skills at par with my magic skills. Then, later in the game, at Hollow Bastion, I would need to train my magic skills in healing because my normal health level wouldn't cut it. I had to grind for several more hours getting my magic skills high enough to heal myself and my teammates effectively.

& Picking up that grenade launcher or frag rounds in L4D2 Expert.

So, what about you?

In fallout 3 my first character was the most amoral, randomly cruel bastard in the world. I had finished every quest in the game, including broken steel and point lookout, before I realized that despite my godlike skill in combat and my incredible wealth, my character had no friends and he was lonely. Every decision in the game was a bad one.

I'd have to say buying Crash Bandicoot Twinsanity

after that, it just went downhill

even when i started playing it, i just looked at the screen and said "this is not Crash"

Basically every Final Fantasy that comes along I focus on physical strength and attacking which destroys about 95% of the game. Then there will be one 15 minute quest about 2/3 into the game where physical attacks are useless and my lvl 1 magicks are like throwing sponge at enemies.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope.
I didn't even use half the features. One of them, Skill Boost, I just discovered halfway through the game. Derp.

I picked one of the generic provided classes my first time through on Oblivion. My other five guys are a higher lvl than my main.

Completely neglecting my combat skills in Oblivion. It's no fun to be a high level character that can't defeat a fucking goblin without having EXTREME difficulty. Though I am a highly skilled thief and assassin, so I do kick ass when I sneak up on fools.

Personally, I like playing this way: one all-or-nothing stealth strike. Then, if discovered, sprint backwards and pepper with arrows. Rinse and repeat.

It is fun, but sucks when the enemies chase my ass for a long time before giving up.

I chose to end my Arkham Asylum play in the middle of saving... never getting that file back.

Also, any time I try to use a grenade or launcher when an enemy is really close; that almost always ends bad.

In Pokemon Blue, I used my Master Ball on a Sandslash, my favorite Pokemon at the time. Admittedly, they are fairly uncommon, but it was only around level 41, a level that could have easily been handled with an Ultra Ball.

Honestly, I just really, really wanted that Sandslash, and being 10 or 11, I didn't know any better. I'd never even heard of any of the Legendary Pokemon, so of course I didn't know that I should have been saving my Master Ball for one of them.
