Well, I am 22, just got my first credit card, and what do I do? Go to amazon and buy all 9 seasons of DBZ, I knew something like this would happen as I have very low impulse control when it comes to spending lol.

Anyone else make any bad spending decisions?

Spent £100 on a gorilla suit for my 18th birthday, wore it twice & was broke for 3 months after.

Nothing that bad though, I don't have enough time to enjoy the games & books that I do get off amazon unfortunately.

I'd say just about every single spending choice I make is a bad decision, I need to work on saving I'm just plain awful at it.

Not that I can think of. Most of my purchases are something that I've wanted for at least a month, and the rest are groceries. I actually still have all of my tax refund from earlier this year, and only use my credit card in a manner that builds my credit score.

Bought Bladecraft Orianna and Riven on LoL when I'm already in my overdraft and unemployed and have only played LoL for a week.

In my defense, Bladecraft Orianna is ridiculously hot.
Oh God why is this so hot why am I so weird [http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IZR15FEPq7U/T05CcoB1r6I/AAAAAAAACZ0/69FdK32Xj-o/s1600/Bladecraft_Orianna.jpg]

Bought a £50 pair of shoes today, taken from £250 given to me for books. The only virtue is I only need £180 for books.

Heh, I was just about to make a topic like this. Just today, I spent $60 in order to satisfy my current plastic crack addiction, and bought myself a Transformer Collection 6 Megatron.

...I'm going to guess that most of you aren't toy experts, so here's what I'm talking about:

I've got a PS3 from last loan day that barely ever gets turned on. Got a new TV too, didn't need it really but at least it gets used.

I've made a lot of impulse buys since getting my first job 9 years ago, and I suppose I simply have enough experience to think ahead and understand why certain items would not be the best buying decisions. I was tempted to buy a PSVita recently, but I knew it would only collect dust for most of it's existence, so I held off.
when I got my first job (and due to luck I had ALOT of disposable income) I kind of went crazy...buying sutff left right and centre..and got depressed because I couldnt think of anything I could buy

and then I discovered a store that sold geek toys....

though Ive sort of gotten out of the habit..since i know I wont be able to spend like that all my life, and I should get used to the Idea of being poor

Is that as bad as it sounds? :S

OT: Personally I have a horrible habit of spending money on stuff I don't need... I bought a 450 pound 5:1 speaker home cinema system on finance the day I lost my job, just to make me feel better...

To be honest though... no damn regrets with that purchase!! :p

Contrary to a lot of people on here, I'm an extremely frugal spender, almost to the point of penny pinching. The only times I make a big purchase is when I get something for myself on my birthday, usually in the range of several hundred dollars, (although that's really only due to not receiving any presents on my birthday. 19 isn't to old to recieve presents, is it?)

I got to learn this lesson by proxy. My roommate purchased a kiddie pool for $100 while living in an apartment with no yard and the got a heater despite the fact the place has a heater and on a whim punched absurdly expensive food in mass quantities (like artisan sardines) and wind up with no use for any of it. I just sat back an was like "Wow, you're a moron" and figure that was natures way of saying not to buy worthless shit.

Spent 20$ on Tribes Ascend.
That wouldn't be bad if I didn't remember just a second later that I have almost everything unlocked and that almost all the gold I got will stand there in my account and collect dust.
But it had those shiny 50% signs.... damn you brain.

Just an example of how bad I'm with money. I see something, I buy it and only then I realize that I have no use for at and probably would never have.

Also, Steam...

Ya I am the same way I don't really spend on my birthday either. Hell I catch myself getting nervous I spend to much on comics which is only 6-10 dollars a week. My friends call me cheap but I think I am just smart and try to only spend on things I will get multiple usage out of.
