*sigh* Why is it that when you don't want to be bothered it seems that is when everyone wants to talk to you?

I am trying to study for an exam I have in my Operating Systems class as well as type a report on Google for my online class. Normally I don't have one person trying to call my phone or text me. Tonight, however, I have had two of my friends call my phone while I was trying to work and now I have a co-worker texting me.

Does anyone else have this problem?
Feel free to tell any of your stories that might relate to my little problem.
Maybe I won't feel like the fates are against me.

Turn your phone off?

I leave mine on silent always. If I need to be contacted, it's in my phone, ready to vibrate. If I don't, I misplace it. People have learned.

Friends and family flock to me like sheep when I so much as think 'I'm gonna lay down for a few...'

It's not fun.

No, I don't keep a cell phone on me 24/7, and if I am doing work I make sure that no other distractions are available like messenger services.

Obviously your lack of removing these distractions is a sign that you appreciate these forms of contact from your friends and peers. It's a normal thing among young adults to feel the need to always be in contact.

If I don't want to be talked to or disturbed I ignore my phone and make sure I'm not logged into anything where people can interrupt me. And if they keep doing it, say "Sorry, I can't talk now, I'm busy studying". It's not that hard.

when i'm trying to write a report or finish some Algerbra Homework, i usually get spammed by my cousins or friends.
"Hey."
5 minutes later..
"Hey!"
30 seconds later..
"ANSWER ME!"

i hate family.

I never have these kinds of problems on account of my friends not liking me.

Some call it lucky, I don't.

I'll be bored all day and not get a single text or call. Then as soon as I finally find something to do, my friends all become Navi from Ocarina of Time. "HEY HEY HEY HEY LISTEN HEY LISTEN I NEED YOU TO TALK TO ME HEY LISTEN HEY HEY HEY"

The worst I have had was when a friend called me at 2 AM. That was the first and last; she found out that I'm a screaming bear when I wake up.
But I agree with the general opinion here; set it on vibrate and/or 'misplace' it when I don't want to be disturbed.

For me when I try to not meet someone, there they are where I didn't expect them.

I work nights, I get millions of texts during the day & none after 17:00 (when i wake up.)

Also, I don't drink because i love to drive. Usually i have to drag my mates away from XBL to go outside, But as soon as i start having something to drink my phone goes haywire with people wanting to come out and play. ¬¬

The worst timing story i have is as follows:

I was in ASDA (a supermarket - Equivalent to Wall mart) which has a Macdonalds & a pharmacy opposite each other. I was with my cousin. I Gave my mums prescription to the pharmacist then wandered over to the Macdonalds for something to eat. After eating we headed back over to the pharmacy whilst my cousin recount a story about his friend blowing up an air bed by mouth.

I then wittily replied "well i guess he was red-faced", Then realized i was facing a woman with a massive rash all over her face, And my cousin had no idea what i was talking about.

Good time to get amnesia cousin ¬¬

Well, I don't turn my phone off because I never get anyone calling or texting me. The same thing happened Sunday though. Everyone wanted something from me when I was trying to get some school work done.
Nobody wants to talk to me when I am bored out of my freaking mind but the moment I get something I have to do, they want to talk to me.
