I lost over 10,000 badass rank. What am I supposed to do?!

With the Mechromancer patch?
Because from I could tell, I lost no Badass Rank.

I know I didn't - started up a Mechromancer and kept the rank just fine. Try searching or asking around on a Borderlands 2 specific forum, though; you might have better luck there.
I've heard this issue might have something to do with doing split-screen co-op using two new characters, but then it was an obscure YouTube comment, so I can't say any details. It has me scared though. Did you skins and heads also disappear, the ones you unlocked?
I have the opposite problem. I keep gaining a ridiculous amount of badass tokens every time my health regenerates. I'm not going to spend them of course. It would ruin the game completely. But right now I'm sitting on more than 5000 badass tokens.
I have the Compatibility patch and Mechromancer downloaded.
I lost no badass rank. I did not lose any of my skins or heads that I unlocked, nor did I lose my golden key.
From what I learned, it's an uncommon glitch that can affect single and co-op users equally, regardless of split-screen or over XBL.
I'm thankful that this didn't happen to me, but to those who have experienced this glitch: contact Gearbox and be friendly about it. More likely than not, they'll at least listen to your story and give you a better understanding of the situation than any poster here could. They've at least shown that they do listen to their fanbase's feedback.
