Nothing to complain about as far as I can see. Fifa 12 and Skyrim should be the big winners

As usual, its mainstream heaven.

Noticing a distinct lack of the Old Republic. Would have thought it would get nominated for multiplayer at least.

The fact that Uncharted and CoD are there makes me weep.

No Deus Ex in best game? Why? WHYYYYY?

Wait? Skyrim is nominated for best story? The fuck?

Given that Arkham City and Uncharted are also there, its easy to see that the people who decide the nominations don't know jack about good stories.

Y'know, if the nominations were made by people who actually made an effort to play as many games as they can that year, rather than by people who just played the most hyped and talked about games, then maybe these kind of awards could be used to show people hidden gems they might have missed.

As it is, they're an absolute waste of time, because they're just validating the opinions of people who only play the absolute most popular, overhyped games by telling them that they ARE playing the best games there are so they don't need to look any further, while simultaneously pissing off people who played games other than Skyrim/Bastion/Batman this year and know that just because those are the most talked about games doesn't mean they're the best by any means.
