Why don't you all make a club?

You could kick orphans and crap on Church steps.

Oh the fun you'd have...

I like the idea of Christmas and generally most other holidays, I suppose you could say they sound good on paper. What I don't like about Christmas and other holidays is the extent to which the general public has warped their images. Christmas went from a time of peace and goodwill to a crazed instant-gratification shopping rush. Halloween went from honoring the dead to a crazed instant-gratification candy rush.

There's a good many things that I enjoy about the modern world, and a lot of new standards that are right. But there really are some things that would be better the way we used to do it.

I enjoy Christmas. It's one of my favorite holidays.
Although, what I don't like is how overly commercialized and even controversial it has become.

It's alright, the older I get the more I could do without the whole gift giving thing. If I really wanted something I'd buy it for myself, so it doesn't have quite the allure as it did when I was twelve. Lots of pestering each other about "what we want" and none of us having anything to really say.

Thanksgiving is still my favorite holiday of the year. Booze, food, and the only stress is on what meal to bring. What more could you ask for?

Most Christmas music irritates me, and people who put wreaths on the front of their cars.
I just see that as being a hazard, I mean, what if it fell of while they're cruising on the highway and somebody swerves to avoid hitting it, causing a HYOOGE pile up?

I totally agree. That wreath might bounce into the undercarriage and do some damage to the drive shaft, too.

Christmas hasn't really gotten to me this year, which actually irritates me. Normally I like that special christmas-cozy feeling, but I haven't been able to tune in to it this year. Well, I still like it...

The only thing I don't like about Christmas is the fact that I always seem to get ill around this time of year. Kinda takes the edge off the festivities.

What, that it sounds good on paper, that it was taken in the wrong direction, or that I like some old traditions?

I don't see any reason to hate christmas, but i'm sure all the advertising, and crappy christmas specials could get to you(I don't watch TV during the holidays just because of them).

Yesterday, after lugging about 20 bags of Christmas presents on the buss I told myself, "I'm never buying presents again, I'll hibernate next year."
