Hi, folks. Newcomer here, and yes, my first action is to hit the New Thread button. Unwise, I know, but bear with me.

I started this over at GameFAQs, (I SAID BEAR WITH ME DAMN IT) but for a multitude of reasons, I decided after a few days that it'd probably be a lot simpler for me to continue it in a place with improved functionality, (somewhere I don't have to worry about exceeding a "post cap", for one thing) and someone very helpfully suggested this place.

Here's the story, lazily copied (and abridged) straight from the original thread.

I intend to try and beat Baldur's Gate II, not just without ever reloading, but in its entirety. From the beginning of Shadows of Amn to the end of Throne of Bhaal, I will complete every single side quest right down to the most piddling, pointless Fed-Ex missions (including, perhaps, those introduced by selected mods) and slay every foe right down to the most pathetic gibberling.

...

Naturally, I wouldn't go announcing something like this if I had no intention of following up on it to some extent, so I will, of course, be posting regular updates chronicling my successes, failures, challenges, frustrations and strategies, all mixed in with whatever (hopefully) amusing commentary I feel is appropriate.
The problem with this is that, as I said, I already started the thread somewhere else, and there are several pages worth of content in there already. I doubt anyone particularly wants to have to jump between forums (least of all to GameFAQs; the community doesn't exactly have the best of reputations) in order to catch up, so I'd have to start off with a pretty big post dump in order to get everything transferred.

In short, let me flood a thread plx

Now, I like to think I'm a well-mannered and reasonable person, so I wanted to ask before just going ahead and pulling a stunt like this. If it'd be OK, great. If not, please do let me know, and feel free to lock/delete the thread, suspend my account, key my car, whatever.

Thanks.

Yeah, if you did that, I swear I would hunt you down and key your car all the way around. Twice. And adjust your mirrors 15 degrees to the left.

Really, though, I don't think I would care. I don't know about others, though.

Ah, yes, I can hear the screeching sound now. Oh yeah.

Only starting at Baldur's Gate 2 rather than alllll the way at the real start from Candlekeep? Hah! It ain't a real runthrough unless you go from start to finish, you can just start mid race and expect me to cheer like you'd done the full thing.

Psh, good taste in games I'll give ya that, but I could do better if I weren't lazy and boasting a short attention span.

Hey, BGII is the better game, and I'm doing this as much for my own enjoyment as anyone else's. IT'S ALWAYS YOU YOU YOU, ISN'T IT?

Ahem. Anyway, if this one goes well enough then I will be going back and covering the original Baldur's Gate as well, so it's not as if I won't be running the whole track. I've merely...adjusted the starting point.

On that topic, though, I have decided, upon further reflection, that it would be wiser to simply move this to a place of its own; a blog. So it won't be happening here after all. Apologies for the bother and whatnot. I will, however, post the link once it's set up for anyone who's interested.

BGI is the better game, its where the whole plot starts and actually makes sense and has a well defined course unlike BGII which just adds and is only a side plot that ends up being continued and completed in Throne of Bhaal and all that.

Was I talking about the story?

It's a better game in terms of gameplay, in that it's essentially an improved version of the first one. I already know the story off by heart, so that's not what I play the game for.

Good to see you have a blogger account because I was just about to say "This is very appropriate for a blog" >_>
