Merry Christmas! Feliz Navidad! Joyeux Noël!

It's been a while since i posted anything on the Escapist, and so, i start this topic about videogame soundtracks:

Have you ever noticed the resemblancy in some of the musics not necesarily between those two games made by Bioware obviously, but some rythms, melodies or instruments they reuse?

i did found out that at 0.32 of the Sovereign theme of M.E. it sounded exactly as the intro of one of our favourites RPGs. here's the links of them both:

Mass Effect - Sovereign theme

Baldur's Gate - Attacked by Bounty hunters

so have you heard similar cases of musical resemblancy in gaming or another media?

I was watching a documentary about Micheal Jackson and his music. Some guy (he was a big studio player, one of the guys that was brought in for recordings) and he spent 5-6 minutes explaining how basically all the popular songs had the same music with a few little pieces thrown in and a different rhythm to the lyrics that tricks you into thinking they were different. He played sections and then stripped parts of the audio out, while interesting also piss annoying.

Were they both done by Jack Wall? Composers have certain recognisable patterns and styles.
