Games as a service. The future as at hand. "We create a service for the consumer... until we're done. Then we take the money and run. And you don't even get an experience left."

You can't even play the game in any real way. Unbelievable. And worst yet, this will not sink them. People will await the new shiny and forget this. Once they see that they weathered this storm, you can expect much more fuckery in the future.

I never spent money on it, nor do I have any means to play it, no cellphone no nothing. I do feel bad though for those who did waste money on it, but these kinds of things are just not shocking anymore, I expect them.

Just like free to play mmos, you pay them your money for stuff but if they feel the game isn't profitable in the long run they just shut it down, no refunds, no compensation for frequently paying customers. Nothing but "hey come play this other game despite you spending possibly thousands of dollars and dozens of man hours on the one we just took from you." AKA, Aeria Games Syndrome.

Just don't pay money for a game you do not physically own.

Sad to see Namco Bandai going this way. New Tales game are full of buyable loot, Tales of Hearts is getting what looks like a very low budget localisation (no English audio at all) and now this. Why couldn't they have just patched it to work offline. I love the Tales series but they are making some bad missteps right now...
