Municipal Waste is a rly good modern thrash/crossover band. And everytime I ran into a person that knew of them i'd treat them like gods.

Cryoshell, finnish group that did the commercial music for some bionicle commercials. Now they're a band, and they've upgraded their old stuff

Ninja'd. I guess some people have heard about them after all. ^_^
I've known about them since they released Creeping in my Soul for the Barraki bionicle commercial, well before they had a name >_<

These first two aren't exactly bands but they're good singer/songwriters nonetheless:

And you can't go wrong with a bit of Ska :)

I'm talking about those bands that you can't talk about with other people because they don't know them. Keep in mind that I'm referring to real life conversations, not internet conversations.

One band that I have a hard time finding fans for is Radio Moscow. Not a lot of people in my area seem to know them, but they're awesome. A great mix of blues and psychedelic rock. Modern too, I might add.

Got bands like this?
Highly awesome I might say...
Not many of my friends have heard about Children of Bodom... or even Pink Floyd... blasphemy, that's all I say!
Bodom, I can understand. Didn't know about them until GH5, I can say I'm not a fan.

But PINK-FUCKING-FLOYD? Torches and Pitchforks!!!!

My all time favorite band is a little Norwegian band called In The Woods and is unknown by pretty much everyone, and that really pisses me off due to how insanely good music they wrote (they don't exist anymore). Still, I can't say I expected them to become famous due to the wild variety of influences and differences of styles between their albums. It's not catchy music, but it's the kind of music that can change people I think. Linking to a couple of songs just in case someone else finds them interesting. If so, send me a pm or something, it'll make me smile :)

Damn it! Someone famous was in that band! I can't remember who!

Edit: Never mind...
They ring bell, but I don't know why.

The Adventures of Robert Savage. One album in 1971, called Volume 1. Excellent psychedelic blues-rock.

Well, there's this one band called brokeNCYDE. . . nah I'll spare you all from that joke this time
I REALLY hope some of you know who Anti-Flag is, and I'm referring mostly to their older stuff that's five times better, like this:

Here's a 70's band I bet none of you have heard of. "Major Hoople's Boarding House" From Kitchener, Ontario. They only had 1 hit called "I'm running after you". It was huge in Canada. If you google them there's almost nothing about them.

I've heard of Mott the Hoople, but yeah. Who the hell is that?!

There's a band called Turbowolf, they sound roughly like a mix between Cancer Bats and Mastodon. I think they've just been touring with Korn, so they're slightl more well-known than I thought. But they are indeed awesome, amd not in the look-at-me-I'm-so-alternative way, just the really really awesome way.
