NICKELBACK (well, All the Right Reasons mainly, their other stuff is so-so)
And Panic at the Disco. Their debut album is one of the best I've heard in a LONG time. Not one unskippable song. Their second album on the other hand... Wasn't bad, but it was a complete shift in genre (from pop-punk to Beatles-influenced rock). I liked it, but it still doesn't stack up to the sheer awesome-ness that is A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.
Oh, and Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship (another band who has produced one of my favourite albums: Viva la Cobra!), The Audition, The Academy Is..., The Cab and Midtown. Though the last one is unknown at my school, but odds are they'd hate it just to fit in with the cool kids who listen to Dr. Dre and Linkin Park.
Usually I defend my favourite bands by calling out on their preferred artists, with Linkin Park containing the most snark bait. All I need are four words to stop them from making fun of my musical tastes: Crawling. In. My. Skin. That is all.
Apparently liking the bands above makes me... well, emo, apparently. But I myself think I am far from being anything emo-like; I'm not whiny, self-important or have a bizarre fashion sense. I'm an upbeat guy, not a stereotypical emo kid who thinks he was abused by his parents because they didn't give him pocket money.
EDIT: I don't actually /hate/ LP, I do listen to some of their work occasionally (however, I am still of the opinion that some of their lyrics are rather... shallow and contrived).
