Superchunk, Sunny Day Real Estate, Built to Spill

they really were founders of the Indie scene, but nobody seems to remember them, even musicians.

Pretty sure they are just older and thats why they are not talked about. Honestly thats good classic music that, in my highschool, the black kids still appreciate and enjoy.
Well thats just it, still some of the greatest bands in the world and yet no one in my school knows of there existence. I bet a crappy cover will be made eventually and then it will popular again!
Exactly lets face it, its only a matter of time before an R&B singer or someone like Kanye West samples it.
I just saw what was on the new Human Nature album and they a have a cover for 'Reach Out I'll Be There' by The Four Tops. It's already began, duh duh duh!

I discovered Clutch on Viva la Bam and downloaded a bunch of their stuff, they are pretty good. I also listen to Justice and Thousand Foot Krutch, but I don't know how many people know of them.
Dude, I love Clutch! They're pretty much my favorite band!

I think a band that fits the theme of this thread would be The Presidents of the United States of America. Anybody remember that song "Peaches"?

I'm an MTH fan and I've never watched Death Note. Found them on a list of "Awesome bass players you have never heard of"

I think I seen this kind of thread before about week ago. Graveyard BBQ is probably no one would ever know.
Weren't they in the very first Guitar Hero game? I think the song was called "Cheat on the Church". That song rocked. Probably my favorite song on their was another really obscure one, "Caveman Rejoice" by The Bags \m/

Anyone hear of a group called: They Might Be Giants?
Has anybody else ever seen that episode of that show Tiny Toons (little kid versions of all the Looney Tunes characters) where they had a bunch of songs by They Might Be Giants?

o_O I'm not crazy, I swear...

three bands i remember would be SR-71, sum 41, and drea

edit:

just remembered one, not actualy a "band" but it is a person with a song, scatman
Sum 41 is still popular from what I gather. SR-71's only song of note that I recall is "Right Now", and it was awesome.

My picks - Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies (a cover band, check out their version of somewhere over the rainbow), The Briggs, The Street Dogs (Similar to the Dropkick Murphy's, and in fact the lead singer for The Street Dogs used to work with DKM), The Pogues (The forerunners of the style of music seen in Flogging Molly, their best album in my view was Rum, Sodomy and the Lash), and to a lesser extent Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys (though both bands are fairly popular).

Wow, you have eclectic music tastes, my boyfriend listens to the supremes, the temptations, the four tops, the impressions, and CCR, you know, the oldies. I've heard some of Thousand Foot Krutch's stuff, its alright.

I gotta go with Matt Costa, The Sundays, and Dido.

I actually know a lot of the bands listed here, but that's because I'm a huge dork and used to spend hours of my time after high school in music stores.

Anorexia Nervosa: diehard French metalheads probably know this one.

Heey, I know Scatman. And my friends know it too, they love the song Scatman as well. But what bands I know that others don't... The Mad Soldiers, SCARECROW and Iceman for a start. Japanese bands and I hardly ever come across to people who know these bands. I don't remember any others atm and I should be going to class now so those can do for now.
