I don't know if anyone can help me, but since about Christmas I've been having a massive lag issue whilst playing on the xbox and now my computer can't even stream music without getting lag.

My NAT is open, and connection to the homehub is four bars and occasionally 3 bars, My download and upload speed are both around about 300kb/s on average, however my bandwidth is aparently at 25kb/s or whatever it's measured in. I think this may be the problem, but I have no idea how to fix it. Can anyone help me?

Maybe try calling the company that sets it up,

me personally, I can only be of help when it needs tuning...

Bah I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that, I hate ringing those companies.

Yeah, I'd ring your Internet support, could be a problem with your line, those numbers seem pretty low.

Calling your Internet service provider or making a thread about it on Escapist?
Now that's a tough one.

Have you tried using an inline speed check to test your upload and download speeds?. If it's lower than the average (it'll come up in the test) you should call your ISP to check

Actually I was going to see if anyone on here was capable enough to suggest a reason of how it could be fixed from my end so I don't have to ring customer support that I can't understand, obviously I was mistaken.

Yeah I have, my download and upload speeds are fine, but my bandwidth speed is low which is why I think that's the problem.

Try the online speed tester, if it is a ISP fault due to server congestion then there is nothing you can do but call the ISP. However if your speed is just below average then it could be that your router, modem or whatever is faulty. Switch to cables if you are on wireless.

Thanks for actually suggesting something helpful, I hadn't thought about trying the cable yet, I'm going to go give it a try now.
