Today, I was thinking that my favorite pics collection has a terrible lack of Banjo Kazooie pics. "Well, that just won't do", I said to myself. So, I booted up my N64 emulator and got to work.
But I ran into a lot more obstacles than I thought I would.
But never fear, I have them now. All maps (Except Bubblegloop Swamp because screw that level.) have been captured at a 1366x768 resolution. Ladies and gentlemen, trust me when I say that these images are pretty much the highest resolution you're going to get out of the game without seeing some massive clipping. I was already pushing it with the resolution I had. And so, without further ado, here they are:

And there you are. If you have any places in BK you would like shots of as well, just post them here, and don't forget to comment and tell me what you think of these. Also, I might do hi-res screenhots of the maps in Banjo Tooie as well if enough people ask me for them. And that's it. Enjoy!

But I ran into a lot more obstacles than I thought I would.
The first obstacle being the resolution the game was set at. I needed it to emulate a bigger picture essentially. Had to do some digging there to get what I wanted. But I got it.
Unfortunately, I exchanged one problem for another. You see, N64 games are understandably built with the assumption that you'll be playing the game at a 4:3 aspect ratio. As such, when you have the emulator expand the picture to be fully and truely widescreen, you'll start to encounter things sometimes just plain not getting drawn outside of the 4:3 resolution because the game thinks it doesn't need to draw it.
Now, that's not to say that you can't position the camera in such a way as to get all of the images drawn in on your screen. But it's rather hard and I had to get good at positioning Banjo at the proper place and aligning the camera at a proper angle so everything on my screen would be drawn.
Right after that, I ran into problems taking the actual screenshot. Apparently the game won't let you take them when you're in full screen. Even if you pause the game, the emulator will refuse to take one. That means I had to use the PrtSc key and Paint to get a screenshot. But alas, you also can't take screenshots when the game is being emulated or you'll just get a black screen! So, in order to take a successful screenshot, I had to pause emulation, hit the PrtSc key, back out of full-screen, paste the shot into Paint, and save it.
But wait! Paint saves all pictures as JPEG's by default, thus turning the picture into a terrible looking PoS. So now I need to repeat all those steps and then specify the picture to be PNG. And FINALLY, I have my screenshot.
*whew* That wasn't so hard, was it? >_>
