Banned from 4chan. I don't know why. Help?

Hey people. So yeah, I frequent 4chan. Mostly just the Pokemon, cartoon&comics, paranormal, and anime boards. And apparently I've been banned for a couple of days now. This ban is apparently going to last a month.

The reason listed is for "Ban evasion." Which is apparently a term no one ever talks about or clearly defines, at least that I can find. From what I've figured out, it means that I'm being accused of tricking 4chan into thinking I'm someone different so I can post after being banned.

I had no idea I was banned in the first place. I'm pretty sure I wasn't banned in the first place. And now I'm just kinda pissed off and I have no idea what to do.

I'm not asking for advice on how to get around the ban. Just what the hell should I do?

It also shows the post I made that got me banned. I will admit to posting it. I made a joke about a popular theory in a thread about a cartoon.

It boils down to "Man, they really missed their chance to reveal [popular theory about a character] on [holiday], when are they gonna get around to doing it?" That is all that I said.

So yeah, what do I do? Any ideas why I was banned?

you don't have a username similar to anyone else on the site, do you? Do you share an ip address with other people that might use the site or may have used someone else's wifi? Is there anyone you can contact on 4chan to ask why? I know that's just more questions for you, but hopefully that can help get you looking in the right direction.

Also, if you've said anything even remotely pro-gamergate that would provoke the banhammer pretty fast. The moderation on 4chan has gotten really weird as of late.

Most 4chan users don't really have usernames. One of the main things about 4chan is that most people are anonymous. It keeps track of people by their IP addresses. No one in my family would use the 4chan website, and the post that apparently got me banned was actually posted by me. (I wasn't banned for anything IN the post though.)

I may have viewed the website with someone's wifi, but never to post.

I can appeal the ban, and I have, but 4chan is apparently known for not taking appeals seriously. Usually waiting until after the ban is over before actually looking at it, things like that.

I've stayed away from the boards that are talking about gamergate.

Sorry I couldn't help, but as you can tell I'm not terribly familiar with 4chan. Maybe you'll get lucky with the appeal. There's always that 8chan thing I keep hearing about.
